Vestmannaeyjar (også kendt som Vestmannaøerne) er navngivet som et af de bedste rejsemål i 2024 af The New York Times og er et sted med fængslende skønhed, barske landskaber og rigt dyreliv. På denne dagstur vil vi udforske højdepunkterne i Heimaey og opdage den fængslende skønhed på denne ø ud for Islands sydkyst. Denne tur giver dig mulighed for at opdage naturlige vidundere som Elephant Rock og nyde lunde-kiggeri ved Stórhöfði Cape. Vi dykker ned i øens rige historie på Eldheimar Museum, vandre op ad Eldfell for en fantastisk udsigt og vender tilbage med uforglemmelige minder om dette unikke eventyr.

Dit eventyr til Vestmanøerne begynder fra dit valgte afgangssted i Reykjavik. Når alle er ombord. vi begynder den 2 timer lange rejse til Landeyjahöfn færgeterminal. Der går vi ombord på Herjólfur-færgen for en naturskøn 30-minutters rejse til øen Vestmannaeyjar.
Ved ankomsten begynder turen med et stop for at beundre den betagende udsigt over Elephant Rock (Halldórsskora). Denne fantastiske formation er lavet af basaltsten, støbt under et vulkanudbrud fra Eldfell. Dens karakteristiske silhuet, der ligner et elefanthoved med dens snabel yndefuldt dyppet ned i vandet, gør den til et umiskendeligt vartegn.
Dernæst besøger vi Stórhöfði-kappen for en fortryllende session med lundekiggeri, der giver masser af muligheder for at tage dejlige billeder af disse karismatiske fugle.
Efter vores eventyr til at se lunde, er vores næste destination Eldheimar-museet, kærligt kaldet 'Nordens Pompeii'. Her vil du dykke ned i begivenhederne omkring vulkanudbruddet i 1973 og dets dybe indvirkning på regionen. Efter dette indsigtsfulde besøg tager vi til centrum for en frokostpause (frokostudgifter er ikke dækket af turens pris).
Efter frokost fører vores rejseplan os til Skansinn, der ligger ved siden af havneområdet og opkaldt efter fæstningen, der engang indtog denne plads. Her vil du støde på Stafkirkjan, en slående nordisk "Viking" Wood Church, sammen med et fyrtårn med en betagende udsigt over klipperne nedenfor.
Efter vores udforskning af Skansinn fortsætter vores eventyr med en vandretur op ad vulkanen Eldfell, hvis sidste udbrud fandt sted i 1973. Når du når toppen, vil du blive behandlet med et storslået panorama over de omkringliggende lavamarker, byen og byen. hele øen spredt ud nedenfor.
Efter vandreturen har du mulighed for afslappet at vandre rundt i byen i dit eget tempo eller vælge at udforske de fascinerende lavamarker, mens du går tilbage til havnen. Vi mødes igen i havnen sidst på eftermiddagen for at gå ombord på færgen tilbage til fastlandet, hvilket sikrer en rettidig retur til Reykjavik om aftenen.

A wonderful experience all around. Our guide/driver, Siggy was great and informative, any questions I had were answered immediately, transportation was timely, and the food at the lunch stop was excellent. The history of Westman Island and the 1973 volcano was fascinating. We enjoyed seeing the puffins, birds and the landscape.
The landscape here is gorgeous. The history of volcanic eruptions is very interesting. Every stop was wonderful and given plenty of time. Small group of only 8 people, all of whom were delightful. Do not miss the visit to these islands. Our guide Sichao was hind, patient, informative, and a great driver. He went out of his way to make sure we saw so much, including a surprise waterfall at the end! A full day of adventure! The trip to the ferry was about 1.5 hours, but enjoyed the lovely scenery on trip to and from. Ferry ride was very pleasant. A terrific day!
coordination and transportation was good. the tour information and guide experience was lacking. Felt like the guide was just going thru the motions. I think he was a sub but for this price the guide should be better

Great day! We saw about a thousand puffins (seriously!). And many other birds. Also learned a great deal about the volcano including a really interesting hike on it. Rebecca was an excellent guide!
Be sure to confirm your excursion with the local provider the day before. We called them & were told they had no such excursion scheduled the following day. Along with our disappointment, it took over 40 minutes on the phone with Viator to get a refund.
PUFFINS! only saw a few because it was rainy and windy, but still very special experience. A must see.
We had an amazing time at this tour of the Westman Islands. We had really hoped to see Puffins on this trip and the tour made it happen. Justin is an amazing guide and person. He made the entire group feel very welcome and had a great sense of humor. He waited for those who were late because they got lost and never uttered a word about any inconvenience this may have caused. He showed us around the island and took us to an amazing restaurant which he had pre-booked for the entire group. I highly recommend Justin and this group for those who want to accomplish a whole lot within a day.
