We had a young local girl (Bonnie) who was so fun and full of energy. Obviously loves Iceland and that always makes a tour so great! The food options were varied and she tried to accommodate everyone!
We loved the food! Our tour guide, Eyglo, was amazing!
Freysteinn Sverrisson did an outstanding job on the walking food tour. Very well spoken, answered questions, explained different cuisines of Iceland and truly enjoyed every experience with us! Loved the experience and highly recommend. We have been on numerous food tours throughout the years in different countries and this has been #1 in our book.
Was with a group of 4 friends. This was BY FAR the best thing we did in Iceland our entire trip. The food was AMAZING (thought it would be street vendor food but most of it was gourmet sit down food). Highly recommend.
A great experience, even if it was a bit pricey. We were able to experience several authentic Iceland dishes that we would never have tried on our own. "Silly" is a great guide. She not only told us about the dishes that we ate, but also about other Reykjavik and Iceland info.
Freys was such an engaging and knowledgeable guide. We learned so much about Reykjavik as we walked and the history of the dishes we ate. Five stops with six dishes - all great portion sizes - I won’t need to eat again today. Would eagerly join this tour with Freys again.
This was one of the best food tours ever!! Thor, our guide, was incredible. He is very knowledgeable about all things Reykjavík, not just the food! However, the food was exceptional! If you have even a few hours in Reykjavik I would highly recommend this tour!!
Our best food excision to date! Freys was a prefect tour guide. Great communicator of local history and customs relating to Icelandic cuisine. Everything was absolute wonderful from the local pastries, hot dogs, soups, fermented shark and spirits! Highly recommended to do on the first day in Iceland. Look Freys up if your visiting Iceland and want an authentic experience, you won’t be disappointed!
Ben was amazing, telling about history, kept us laughing, explaining the food, sharing his experiences, restaurant selection was perfect loved trying Icelandic foods. . The fermented shark was quite interesting and we gave it a try- not the best taste. The rye bread ice cream delicious. We returned to 2 of the restaurant from the tour. Highly recommend this tour.
We booked our food walk on our second day of our six-day stay in Reykjavik. Not completely sure what we were in for besides food and a walk, we headed out. We met up with our tour guide, Stevie, who was fantastic! He was attentive, funny, enthusiastic, and excited to share everything he knew. We were introduced to some local history and quirky facts in our 3 hour journey through Reykjavik. We stopped at five different restaurants on our journey, trying a plethora of different foods! Ranging from higher-end restaurants to a local hot dog stand, we learned about each food and how they held a place in the city’s history. A few things we had included: pan-seared Arctic char, an Icelandic hot dog, rotten fermented shark, and rye bread ice cream. They were all memorable! Everyone came as hungry strangers and left as friends with full bellies!
