Turmuligheder
Rejseplan

Palli was a great guide. We learned a lot about Iceland and the culture and the food we ate was so good! I left the tour very stuffed and happy
Gargar was a friendly, fantastic guide! We had a ton of different foods on this walk and surprisingly: I enjoyed the shark and despite never before liking licorice- turns out I just never had the right licorice! ( Islandic licorice !)
We enjoyed our food tour experience with a very good guide, "Tor". He started slow but we got him to warm up and we all learned quite a lot about Iceland, the food, the culture, and more as the day progressed. We had 4 no-shows so started late (hard to believe people no-show) with a group of 9. Lots of food!! So much I can't remember too much about it other than all tasty! Had some salmon and moose on great bread, some lamb stew, some fish stew, a very good beer, tastes of Iceland, and more. Highly recommended!! Come hungry though.
We spent a great 3 hours with Arni as we toured several food places across Reykjavik. Arni was proud of his Icelandic lineage, and the culture, and told us many a story of Iceland and Viking history. The food was delicious.
Palli was our guide and was the best person ever! So smart and informative and gave us so much good information! Answered all of our questions! Went above and beyond!
Without the food selections were really interesting to try. And our tour guide was very amusing and interesting. He told great stories about his culture which made the tour that much better.
I always do these food tours so I get a taste of local foods (and not the tourist trap food). This tour did not disappoint. Our guide Stefan took us to 5 places and we sat down leisurely at almost every place (unlike food tours where you always stand outside and eat). We also had a trainee guide in our group, so we were basically lucky to have two guides! Lots of discussion about Icelandic culture while we were eating.
Was quite interesting tasting different foods of Reykjavík and meet others and taste food from Iceland.
It was amazing learned a lot about Icelandic culture and history. They were great with rescheduling us due to air plane camcellations
Did the Icelandic Food Lovers tour. For $146/person, it was a total disappointment and waste of money for the value and price. Tour guide was friendly, but passive and quiet throughout the tour and didn't add enjoyment in our experience. The food was extremely disappointing. First restaurant was at Le Kock which we were given 2 halves of a piece of toast with toppings which did not taste good (many of the people at the table winced when taking bites out of it). Next stop was the hotdog stand where we had a lamb hotdog- it was good, but nothing special and definitely not worth the price of the tour. Next, we went to a restaurant and had small portion of lamb soup which was the best food that we were served on the tour. Then we went to the Taste of Iceland candy shop and had 3 small pieces of candy, a toothpick-sized taste of jams, and crumbs of jerky-like fish. Lastly, at the final restaurant, we had a fist-sized portion of this cod and potato mixture with a half piece of rye toast, a shot of alcohol that was very strong and I did not eat, a very small sample-size, no bigger than the tip of your fingernail, of a piece of fermented shark which I smelled and did not eat, and lastly had a piece of rhubarb pie. Overall, what we got were pieces of toast, a hotdog, soup, cod-potato mixture, fermented shark, a slice of pie. This tour was very underwhelming from the guide to the food. Would not recommend. Do yourself a favor, save your money in which you could use to buy 2-3 nice meals during your time in Iceland. Side note: I got a text and email after the tour saying to review the photos of the tour. I clicked and it shows a picture of the guide with a tour group that he clearly took during another time and was not of us.
