Reykjanes hemmelige G spots - rå udgave

Beskrivelse

This was certainly the highlight of our trip to Iceland. Damian was a fantastic guide, very knowledgable and gave us an insight into life in Iceland as well as history and background information about the sights and places we visitied. But the highlight of the trip was the visit to the lava cave. Damian ensured that we were very safe and ensured that we were moving at a pace suitable for the whole family. His explanations of the formation of the cave was second to none. I highly recommend booking this trip if you want to experience something different on your trip to Iceland.
The experience was interesting and novel speaking as someone who had never really been inside a cave that required navigating and squeezing through some tight spots. Doing the tour in winter, the contrast between the freezing conditions outside and the relative warmth and coziness of the cave was especially notable. While the cave was the main highlight, I also enjoyed being able to see the endless array of otherworldly landscapes that are not available back home. Damian was a great guide - very knowledgeable, well versed on a wide range of topics, and someone who loves going off the beaten path. I'd highly recommend doing the tour.
Had such an awesome time at the trip. The highlight was the volcanic cave. Had never done anything of that sort. Damian was very informative and pleasant. He made the day memorable. Definitely a must do
AWESOME! Damien, aka "JJ", is an amazing guide. This is not a "usual" tour. Be prepared to have FUN! Damien is informative, engaging and excellent providing history and geo facts. My husband and I are 77 and 66 years young, respectively, and we had an absolute blast in the cave! Damien made us feel safe and we had great laughs! We also had water from a hot stream and Damien was our "chef" masterfully cooking eggs in the hot spring that were delicious! We were delighted that this was an "activity tour" rather than just touring on a bus...the day is truly a lifetime memory...a "DO NOT MISS" tour!
We had the most diverse weather imaginable. Winds, snow, sun, rain, sleet and hail changing many times each hour. The guide tailored our day around this and our preferences for alternative locations and activities when necessary. That was a real saviour of having a private guide. The downside was the 4x4 vehicle was in for repair and a car was used without consulting us before picking us up. The guide was very apologetic and promised to make it up to us which he did and still got us to the same locations plus extra. The caving was a great experience and some other fascinating locations. Not wanting to give to much away to spoil the trip and it's locational surprises, so explaining the satisfaction not the locations. I would do this trip if you do any, especially if you prefer to venture away from your usual tourist traps and enjoy more quiet and off the highway locations.
We spent the day (just as 2 of us., not a big group like most tours) with Damian going around the secret spots of Reykjanes penisula.. We had a fantastic time despite the challenging weather! He was a great guide, taking us to a lava tube, out into the lava field near the Blue Lagoon, down a cave to see an incredible fissure and lava flow, to a hot spring where we cooked eggs in a geysir and ate them and then to Iceland's magic lake (their answer to Loch Ness in Scotland). We visited incredible places, always felt safe, he provided all we needed (including hot drinks and biscuits to keep us going) and we almost completely avoided the crowds. I'd definitely go out with them again, we had a great time and saw things we would never have foujd ourselves. Highly recommended!
Getting close enough to the active volcano for some great shots. Damian was a very informative guide and was able to fill our day with some great memories!
Plan your visit to around this tour! Company owner/guide, Damian, shared his passion for Iceland with us as we discovered the forces behind this amazing island. We began by descending into fissure caves and walking the paths that lava had burrowed hundreds of years before. Next we explored other natural manifestations of geothermal energy including geysers, hot springs and mud pots. We warmed up at a charming seaside luncheonette with great soup and prepared for our next adventure...hiking to the active eruption. We ascended an adjacent dormant volcano for spectacular views of the flow and crater. As we hiked we saw firsthand the spectacular changes in the flow and witnessed the birth of new lava caves. We descended and were able to approach the smoldering edge of the flow...nothing short of amazing to feel the heat of lava warming your face! Next our guide took us to a hot springs and we boiled and ate eggs and drank tea and coffee all prepared with the spring water bubbling at our feet...delicious and the perfect pick-me-up after our long hike. We finished our day with a stop off at a beautiful lake and lots of excited discussion about the things we were seeing and learning. Once in a lifetime adventures...except that we hope to go exploring with Damian and G-Spots again, soon! Quick tips: This is an active trip, dress for all weather (gloves, hats, layers, waterproof everything, comfortable hiking shoes or boots) and be fit. Its essentially a private trip and if you can hike it, climb it, squeeze and crawl into and out of it...they will take you to amazing places! Safety is always first and we felt very secure and well-guided. Appropriate for healthy active, adventurous people; we were a family of 3 ranging from 13-53. The trip is a full day (~11 hours)--cancel any dinner plans after and order in a pizza and a good nights sleep. You will have earned it! Finally, Damian is a delight and we miss him already! Many thanks for the unbelievable and life changing day. We hope to see you again soon!
This was a great tour, first through the Leidarendi lava tube, then around the Seltun geothermal area, then some sites around the Blue Lagoon area, plus some smaller sites along the way. I was also interested to see one of the bore holes for the Blue Lagoon geothermal power plant. Damian and Premmi’s goal is to try to avoid busy tourist spots. So for example we went in a back way to Leidarendi, through a narrow scrambly section and got to see some good sections of “wild” cave before we went into the more frequently visited section near the main entrance. It was a good and entertaining trip, with many interesting things to see! Damian and Premmi are both serious speleologists, and they had a lot (a lot!) to say about both the sites we visited and Iceland in general. I really enjoyed it!
This was a great day tour with an engaging guide (and expert spelunker) to places that weren't on the roster with other tours. Exploring the lava cave and the geothermal vents and craters near the Blue Lagoon were the highlights for me. Safety and caring for the delicate features of the caves was clearly a priority, which I appreciated. Would book again.
