Wonderful evening watching the sun set on the river Nile, all organised by Ramses. So easy, pick up and take to boat, meet at end. Nothing to worry about with no extra hassles. Relax and enjoy Luxor, the beautiful boats and clean river. Very good fun to paddle in the Nile. They know where to take you for a swim with the wild life. Great sailers with good refreshments.

We had an amazing time on this felucca trip on the Nile! The people were very friendly, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the live music and dancing made the experience even more special. We loved that we could sit with our feet in the water while enjoying the calm surroundings. The sunset over the Nile was absolutely beautiful. Everything felt peaceful and authentic. We had a great time on our felucca ride with Mia, George, and the boat crew- Moamen, Karem and Ahmed! These teenage boys have been sailing for quite a while. They were so much fun! We all danced as they sang a Numbian song for us. Mia and George were the perfect host and driver. The conversion never slowed and the knowledge of Egypt never stopped being shared. We are so grateful to have been paired with all of them! They are such a fun bunch!!!

We enjoyed a calm and beautiful ride on the Nile during sunset, and the view was truly breathtaking. The atmosphere on the felucca was peaceful and perfect for relaxing, especially while sipping tea and hibiscus. The service was excellent, and our guide Amir was incredibly professional and attentive. He took care of every detail to ensure our comfort throughout the trip. His friendly attitude and clear explanations made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, it was a memorable tour that I highly recommend to anyone who wants to experience a magical sunset on the Nile — especially with guide Amir.

You know those pesky street vendors and pushy taxi drivers always trying to upsell and overcharge you? Now imagine being stuck with them on a felucca for 2 hours. That was basically our experience. After a long and exhausting day walking around the temples and avoiding being scammed left and right, we were desperately looking for some peace and quiet. We thought that a private felucca ride would be a solution, but we were wrong. The guide that was assigned to us was annoying. He stated several times that he knows how pushy Egyptians can be and he made a point of it that he wasn’t like that. Which turned out to be a complete lie. As we were trying to enjoy the sunset from the front of the felucca, he came to us multiple times, making small talk and having us do photoshoots with him. I don’t know if he was just oblivious or simply ignoring the fact that we were clearly not in the mood for this and had purposefully secluded ourselves to the front of the boat. I had to politely ask him to leave us alone and that we would come to him later if we had any questions. He left us alone for maybe 15 minutes. When we got back to the main area seating area of the boat, I had some questions about hieroglyphs I had seen that day. He explained some stuff that was interesting, even though he had the habit of never answering question directly and going off on all kinds of tangents. At this point, he grabbed the opportunity to talk about his previous clients, how he had a pretty difficult one who ended up giving him a 5-star rating. He then made me pull out my Google Translate to translate a 5-star review for him Arabic. By the time it was time to get back to land, it wasn’t over yet. Oh no! They had another surprise for us! The crew pulled out a drum and a tambourine and put up an awkward little show for us, singing and dancing. It was such a superficial attempt at fishing for tips and I’m so sick and tired of it. You’re being forced to witness this clown show and there is nothing you can do. It wasn’t announced so you can’t decline, you can’t walk away, you can’t even decline to participate because you’re being grabbed by your wrist and pulled into the dancing circle. You just have to grin and bear it. Afterwards you feel obligated to tip, especially considering it was two of us in a boat with four of them. And then the nerve of the guide to come to us afterwards to explain that we should tip, as if we don’t already know that after spending a week in Egypt. It’s ridiculous. The felucca ride itself was pretty mediocre. There was no wind, so we didn’t sail. We mostly stayed anchored in front of the starting point. At some point a motor boat came and pulled us a bit further up the river. It felt pretty pointless, since it was already dark and we didn’t even move that far, so the scenery was basically the same. All in all, if you want to watch the sunset over the Nile in peace, just go sit somewhere on the pier or find a coffee shop at the water and save yourself 40 dollars. Total waste of money.
