Great tour with a fantastic guide named George made everything look so easy, he organized everything for us! A visit at this local Winery and Olive Mill, a visit at a local Brewery and a fantastic lunch at a village Restaurant! Book this tour with this company, you will have an unforgettable day!!
Wine in Crete dates from around 3000BC, the culture and history of wine making is still alive. Even the imported French grape varieties have developed their own character due to the soil and climate. We also visit an olive tree dating from 1500BC. The tastings give you a unique taste and a pleasant relaxing day. For beer lovers, there are craft breweries producing their various local brews. Being in the mountain, we could not skip tasting Cretan food with fresh products from nearby gardens. The freshness and taste of food will tickle your taste buds. An experience not to be missed!
The whole experience was perfect , a full day full of very good food and wine and excellent organisation from the company we booked the tour with
Thank you for doing the tour with us! At Niriis Tours we try to deliver the best service and experience of Crete. You can find us easily if you search on the net to get more discounts!
First to start with hats off to the amazing guide George! He had everything planned to the detail! He took us to a great Winery-Olive Mill company where we did some wine tasting he had scheduled for us and some Olive Oil tasting where we bought a lot of products! Then he took us to this Local Brewery where we tasted some splendid local beer! Great tour overall and again George made everything look so easy!
Thank you for taking the tour with Niriis Tours! We are glad you enjoyed the olive oil and wine tasting. Wines in Crete have different flavour thana other locations due to the climate and Cretan soil. SO the classic varieties of Cabernet, Sauvignon and Merlot taste different than in France. Plus we have our own vine varieties, and the olive oil production is one of the most ancient in the world. The craft beer Charma is also an experience to taste!
It was a taste of everything! Tour places he set up were fabulous and personable - even more so since it was end of season and not as many tourists! We had a great day with him and would highly recommend his tour
Your tour was peculiar as it was the end of the season, and locations were not functioning every day, but luckily we managed to create a totally private tour and enjoy the locations, wine, olive oil and beer! There is so much to see in west Crete and wineries and oil factories are the heart and main occupation of Cretans living inland.
