Kort efter afhentning på din bolig kl. 9:00 af en privat rejseguide/chauffør i et privat køretøj, tager vi afsted på en altomfattende, heldags Cape Winelands-tur til Stellenbosch og Franschhoek, kendt som American Express Wine Sydafrikas rute. Følg vinruten Stellenbosch og Franschhoek i al sin pragt. Du vil nyde vinsmagning på op til 4 omhyggeligt udvalgte prisvindende vingårde, hvoraf alle vinsmagningsgebyrer er inkluderet, og du vil også nyde en hovedretsfrokost på en af disse prisvindende vingårde.
Når vi ankommer til Stellenbosch, vil vi nyde en byorienteringstur. Stellenbosch er den næstældste by i Sydafrika og hjemsted for mere end 200 prisvindende vingårde.
Vores første vinsmagningsstop vil være på Delaire Graff Wine Estate. Dernæst kører vi i 20 minutter til Delheim Wine Estate. Vi vil nyde en hovedretsfrokost med premium vinsmagning på Delheim Garden Restaurant med udsigt over de frodige grønne haver. Turen fortsætter med et vinsmagningsstop ved en af de mest populære vinsmagningsdestinationer i Cape Winelands, kendt som Fairview Wine Estate. Her vil vi smage op til 6 typer vine parret med 6 nøje udvalgte ostetyper, lige fra røde og hvide sorter.
Et valgfrit stop vil blive tilbudt foran Drakenstein Correctional Center (tidligere Victor Verster Prison) for at tage et billede med Nelson Mandela-monumentet.
Vores tur slutter med en køretur gennem byen Franschhoek, kendt som Sydafrikas mad- og vinhovedstad. Det er hjemsted for nogle af de fineste restauranter og vingårde i landet.

The wine in Stellenbosch is spectacular and the wineries are all very picturesque. On this tour the guide took us to each winery and agreed a pick up time. Everything was clear and well communicated.

This tour did not meet the expectations set by the description of a luxury wine tour. When you book and pay for a wine tour, you expect a knowledgeable guide who can speak intelligently about the wines — varietals, winemaking techniques, terroir, and tasting characteristics. Instead, we received a general history lesson about the region. While history has its place, that is not what we signed up for. We visited three wineries (by choice), and it’s difficult to see how more could reasonably be included. In reality, this felt like hiring a driver for the day rather than participating in a professionally curated wine experience. We could have arranged private transportation ourselves, chosen our own wineries, and likely received better value. The advertised “wine and cheese pairing” was also misrepresented. A true pairing is intentional — specific wines matched with specific cheeses to enhance both. What we received appeared to be a random selection, with no explanation or thoughtful curation. Given the cost, we expected expertise, structure, and authenticity. What was delivered did not justify the premium price. The only thing luxury about it was how much it cost. Also, I don’t blame the driver I blame the person profiting from this hack of a tour.

If the tour felt more like transportation than a professionally curated wine experience, we understand your disappointment. Regarding the winery visits, our intention is always to create a relaxed and well-paced day. However, the value of a luxury experience must come from expertise, structure, and intentional curation — not simply logistics. If that depth and structure were not delivered, we take that concern seriously. We also appreciate your comments about the wine and cheese pairing. A true pairing should be deliberate and clearly explained, highlighting how specific wines and cheeses complement one another. If what was presented lacked intention or explanation, that falls short of the standard we aim to uphold. We regret that the experience did not justify the premium price in your view. Your feedback is important and will be used to carefully evaluate and improve how this tour is presented and delivered moving forward.

The tour guide Gordon was on time, very knowledgeable and responsive to our needs. The wine facilities visited were a good choice with a wide variety of products, and the personnel were all extremely knowledgeable of their wines. We had a great day trying 20 wines in 4 different vineyards, with time to wander around Stellenbosch and a lunch stop in Franschhoek. Superb views and Morne our tour guide was very knowledgeable. Would certainly recommend if you want to dip into the local wines and have someone else drive!
