Tag på en uforglemmelig dag med at udforske de ikoniske steder fra landgangen i Normandiet: Utah Beach, Pointe du Hoc, Omaha Beach og den amerikanske kirkegård. En rørende fordybelse i Anden Verdenskrigs historie. Ud over disse must-see steder tilbyder udflugten eksklusiv fleksibilitet: på stedet finder du adskillige museer dedikeret til Anden Verdenskrig. Deres besøg er valgfrit og ikke inkluderet i prisen, men hvis du ønsker at berige din oplevelse, skal du blot diskutere det med din chauffør. ➡️ Afhængigt af dine præferencer og din tilgængelige tid kan han tilpasse dagens tidsplan til at inkludere et af disse museer (f.eks. Din chauffør og guide (afhængigt af den valgte mulighed) henter dig direkte på det aftalte sted: pensionat, togstation eller krydstogtterminal. Han vil hilse på dig med et navneskilt for at lette mødet. Derefter tager du plads ombord på et moderne, komfortabelt og airconditioneret køretøj til en mindeværdig dag gennem historien.
Efter cirka 2 timers kørsel fra Le Havre når du Utah Beach, den første strand, der blev befriet af amerikanske tropper den 6. juni 1944. Du vil opdage bunkerne, resterne af Atlantvolden og, som en mulighed, museet, der belyser de militære operationer. Din guide vil forklare, hvordan general Roosevelts tropper formåede at bryde igennem det tyske forsvar med relativt begrænsede tab. ➡️ Et trin, der perfekt introducerer dagen, viser de allieredes strategi og vigtigheden af denne strand.
Efter en 40 minutters rejse ankommer du til Pointe du Hoc. Dette spektakulære sted, der ligger på 30 meter høje klipper, vidner stadig i dag om kampenes vold. Bombekratere og ødelagte bunkere er en påmindelse om det heroiske angreb fra amerikanske rangers, der besteg klippen under fjendtlig ild. ➡️ Et imponerende og følelsesladet sted, som illustrerer soldaternes mod.
En kort 15 minutters køretur tager dig til Omaha Beach, med kælenavnet "Bloody Omaha". Denne strand er fortsat et af de mest gribende steder fra D-dags landgangen. Her led amerikanske tropper de største tab, mens de stod over for et formidabelt tyske forsvar. At gå på denne strand er at føle historien og forstå pris for frihed. Frokostpause: Du har mulighed for at spise på stedet (sandwich, hurtige snacks) eller, hvis du foretrækker det, nyde en lille typisk restaurant på vejen, udvalgt for sin autenticitet og lokale køkken. ➡️ Et højdepunkt på dagen, fyldt med både historie og hygge.
Endelig, efter kun 10 minutters kørsel, når du den amerikanske kirkegård i Colleville-sur-Mer, der vender ud mod Omaha Beach. Dette mindesmærke hylder mere end 9.000 amerikanske soldater, der faldt under slaget om Normandiet. Der vil du se de perfekte opstillinger af hvide kors, mindesmærket, kapellet og den betagende udsigt over havet. ➡️ Et rørende besøg, der giver anledning til fordybelse og refleksion over en hel generations ofre.

Absolutely brilliant. Our tour guide Mathilde was a wealth of knowledge and fascinating local insights. Our driver Modjy was pleasant, courtious and very professional. Our group of seven (ages 4 to 67) all came away eager to do individual research in order to gain a deeper understanding of the events that Mathilde had introduced us to. We spent 10 hours with Mathilde and Modjy and every minute was fascinating and a joy. Highly recomended, a most rewarding day.

An excellent driver, Adel, with a great tour guide, Sunny. Picked the 6 of us up at the cruise ship for a drive to Normandy. Sunny was very good at giving g us information about the country side we were passing through, the areas we were to visit and WWII . Did not rush us and gave us options. Overall a very emotional and great day visiting the beaches of Normandy. Excellent private tour of this very historical area. A big thank you from our group!

Loved this tour. Visiting the various locations associated with WWII and understanding the French perspective of the US support and other allies was enlightening. Transportation and English speaking guide was great and perfect for our party of 6.

Incredible day with private tour guide who helped us understand all the intricacies and details of the D-Day planning, landings, and battles. Omaha Beach, Utah Beach, Pont Du Hoc, bunkers, craters, hedgerows, and more. The Memorial was particularly special as we explored the chapel, cross headstones, and the wall of names of soldiers who have not yet been found. Our guide helped me contact the Visitor Center to arrange a remembrance of my grandfather's best friend who survived D-Day but died a month later. (I had not known to arrange it prior to the trip). We sanded his stone with sand from Omaha Beach (to help his name stand out in pictures) and placed an American and French flag at his grave. Such an amazing experience with my daughter! And the hospitality was incredible- we even stopped for omelettes and gallettes. We also added a round-trip transfer to and from our cruise port for added convenience and were so glad we did. Great trip!

Jonathan was an amazing driver. We had a few different things on the tour we wanted to see that were special to us and he made it happen. Arrived with fresh croissants and juice. Was very accommodating and helpful and took us to amazing places. Highly recommend him and this tour
