Vi blev født, opvokset og har altid boet i Porto, så vi kender byen som en lokal, og da det er en privat tur, vil vi tilpasse den efter dine interesser. I denne private mad / vin tur vil vi fokusere på portugisisk gastronomi, men du vil lære en masse om vores kultur, historie og traditioner, som gør os unikke. Du vil besøge Bolhão-markedet og flere madspots og tascas (traditionelle butikker), mens du kommer i kontakt med lokalbefolkningen. I mellemtiden vil du opdage historierne bag vores hovedretter: legenden om "tripeiros", navnet givet til indbyggerne i Porto; du vil lære, hvordan "francesinha" er lavet, at "kalorie bombe", som du ikke bør gå glip af og de velsmagende codfisk opskrifter, så vigtige i vores kultur. Vores akkrediterede guide vil møde dig på indersiden af São Bento togstationen. Muralerne repræsenterer øjeblikke i landets historie, og de flerfarvede paneler skildrer landlige scener, der viser befolkningen i forskellige regioner, samt de 2 vinregioner i det nordlige Portugal. We had a wonderful afternoon exploring many delicious venues. A flavorful shredded pork sandwich- a favorite of the locals, was first on the list. This was followed by a stroll through an historic market sampling wines, sardines, fresh oysters and stuffed dates and figs. The next treat we enjoyed was a sample of Ginjinha, a delicious cherry liquor available at a family owned shop. After a short walk we attended a luscious olive oil tasting complete with Portuguese cheese and charcuterie. A stop at a unique shop featuring jams, honey and chocolate spreads flavored with fruit was amazing. The perfect finish was a visit to a pastry shop for an espresso and the quintessential Portuguese pastry, Pasteis de Nata. Highly recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our food tour in Porto with João. He provided insight into the culture and development of the area, along with a wonderful sampling of a variety of food and drinks. We had the greatest time touring with Oporto & Douro Moments! My husband and I had traveled to Porto once before but wanted to try something different this time. We booked a walking food and wine tour on a Sunday morning and it was the perfect way to see the city (definitely wear comfy shoes!) and get to learn a little more about the history and the special dishes of Porto! Highly recommend!
