Porto: Hoteller i nærheden af Taylor's Port Cellars Visit & Port Wine Tasting

Beskrivelse
Vil du have mere? Et must-besøg for vinelskere, der ønsker at fordybe sig i portens arv.

It is a bit of an underwhelming start with a room displaying some old photos but eventually you get to the barrels and can understand the companies history via some videos. Unhelpfully the audio guides are on your phone and therefore you need your own headphones which is not warned about on the booking. Eventually you reach a lovely garden to try the wine, this is helpfully explained by a waiter but it is not in the manner youd have imagined a tasting to go where you all sit down and listen etc (possibly a different package). The area before Taylors has all been regenerated and seems a nice part of town
The tour is via a link on your phone which we didn’t use as would rather read the information and walk around taking in the surroundings. The port tasting was great fun and you can order food to go with the ports very easily, sitting in the beautiful garden after walking around the port house was lovely.
Really well organised, the audio was well curated giving all the relevant information, all the staff were very helpful & polite. The tasting at the end was lovely in the garden surroundings,
Very good audio tour. At the end, the beautiful terrace is highly recommended.
This was a really great experience. The self guided tour was really informative and the setting is exceptional. You can easily spend a good few hours here. Out of the sun and heat! Once you are done with learning about port you get to taste it. We enjoyed the tasting experience and discovered that port is very tasty! The staff gave good background information on each variety offered. There's a pleasant tasting room or a lovely terrace/garden to enjoy your drinks. Great views over the river too. The lodge is set back from the river front and up a steep hill so allow time to get there through winding and narrow streets. On exiting we discovered that you can go through the world of wine complex to reach the lodge which was a lot easier. Definitely worth a visit.
I had booked a guide with the Spanish language. There was no guide, but rather the use of one's own phone. I had booked a time slot. In reality, you can go without booking....
Really enjoyed the tour, liked the fact it was self guided, nobody rushing you Very well laid out, and signposted Port tasting very good, waiter was knowledgeable, no hard sell Liked the traditional approach
Excellent experience, the only thing is that you don't have a person as a guide, but at the time of the tasting, the waiter is super kind, in my case Antonio, and he answered all my questions as if he were a lifelong friend. That is a gem of an experience.
Self guided tour using an audio recording on your phone. A lot of history about the brand and how they make the wine. The you can taste 3 different wines at the end of the tour. Since it’s self guided, you can go as quickly or slowly as you want. Overall, it was a pretty good experience.
We traveled from Porto to Vila Nova de Gaia by train and on the way back as well. It was easy and pleasant. Over there, getting around was easier by taxi. We were lucky to be accommodated on a vineyard. The landscapes were magnificent with the Douro winding through the vineyards.
