AlmaDouro blev født af en kærlighed til floden og byen. For os er luksus enkelt: varme, autenticitet og ægte omhu i detaljen. Tag med på et hyggeligt Douro-krydstogt i lille gruppe (maks. 7 personer) fra Douro Marina, nær fiskerlandsbyen Afurada. Oplev Porto fra floden på omkring 2 timer, mens vi sejler under dens ikoniske broer og langs de historiske havnefronter i Ribeira og Vila Nova de Gaia. Ombord kan du nyde en uformel smagning af 4 kvalitetsportvine fra små Douro-producenter, kurateret i samarbejde med Blend.pt, serveret med små vinparringer for at fremhæve hvert glas (ikke et måltid). Musik, Wi-Fi, toilet og varme tæpper på køligere dage inkluderet. Ingen folkemængder, ingen mikrofoner – bare en afslappet atmosfære, samtale og Portos skønhed på AlmaDouro-måden.

Douro Marina; Vi begynder vores rejse ved Douro Marina, i den maleriske og traditionelle landsby Afurada.
Designet af den italienske arkitekt Nicolau Nasoni, Clérigos-tårnet, der er mere end 75 meter langt, stod færdigt i 1763. Oprindeligt var dets funktion at være et klokketårn, men med årene endte det også med at blive brugt som et vartegn for fartøjer, samt et strategisk punkt for militær kamp. Besøget i Torre dos Clérigos inkluderer en 225-trins rejse til toppen, hvor du kan nyde panoramaudsigten over byen Porto og Gaia.
Det er en metalbro med to dæk, bygget mellem 1881 og 1886, der forbinder byerne Porto og Vila Nova de Gaia adskilt af Douro-floden.

Serra do Pilar-klosteret er et barskt 1600-tals kirke. Siden er det blevet klassificeret af UNESCO som et verdensarvssted 1996. Kirken, der er klassificeret som et nationalt monument, skiller sig ud for sin cirkulære plan, dækket af en imponerende halvkugleformet hvælving, omgivet af en balkon og kronet af en lanterne. D. Maria Pia-broen er en jernbaneinfrastruktur, som førte den nordlige linje over Douro-floden, mellem byerne Porto og Vila Nova de Gaia, i det nordlige Portugal. Det blev indviet den 4. november 1877 og lukket den 24. juni 1991, efter at være blevet erstattet af Ponte de São João. Den betragtes, sammen med Garabit-viadukten, som de største mesterværker skabt af ingeniøren Gustave Eiffel. På tidspunktet for dens indvielse var den broen med den største jernbue i verden 1982.
Med 66,35 ha ligger Douro Estuary Local Nature Reserve på den sydlige bred af mundingen af denne flod, tæt på fiskerlandsbyen Afurada, der omfatter Cabedelo og São Paio bugten, hvor der er en strandeng. Blandt de naturværdier, den beskytter, går højdepunktet til de fugle, der lever her eller passerer igennem her, og som let kan observeres, da det er placeret på trækkorridoren kendt som "Østatlanteruten".

There are many boats that do the same 6 bridges trip, so it’s all about the crew. Paulo and Nadie were very friendly and made us feel among friends. They supplied us with hats, music and adjusted drinks to our taste. There’s space on the boat with shade and also in the open for sun seekers.

Incredible experience! What a lovely boat with amazing hosts. We loved cruising the river, seeing Porto from the water, and tasting some fine port wines. Nadia and Paulo were extremely hospitable and even gave my two-year-old his own "wine" (juice) and snacks to share in the experience. They also made sure to have a life jacket available for him, which was important to us. Could not recommend this enough. Lovely, intimate experience where you're treated as one of the family. Major plus was having one of the best port tastings you could ask for!

We didn’t have an idea of how the tour would be and were happily surprised. We were greeted by our hosts Nadia and her husband and immediately were presented with warm reception. When we were onboard were accommodated and made feel as if it were the boat owners and they were there to sail boat for us while we relaxed and took in the scenery. They provided a delicious port wine tonic cocktail as a welcome drink which was absolutely delicious and refreshing. The provided a lot of history of the region and six bridges on the Dourous River. We were also presented with a great charcuterie board and other delicious port wine tonic. They had warm blankets to shelter us from the cold weather. A very lovely and hospitable couple. Thank you both for giving us such an amazing experience.

We were in Porto in November, a bit unlucky with bad weather, on the day of the cruise on the Douro river we arrive at the meeting point and we discover that we are the only two participants. We thought we'd be asked to cancel or move, and instead we left anyway. It was a beautiful and surreal experience, very few boats on the river, at one point we were the only ones with the whole view to ourselves. The weather also graced us and we were able to enjoy part of the trip outside, sipping port wine and relaxing. It was a really nice experience. Thanks to Nadia and Paulo who treated us divinely, two very kind, nice and super professional people!

This was THE best port tasting experience I had (I did 3 while in Porto). This husband and wife team really know what they are doing. She thoughtfully paired the different ports with foods that enhanced the flavor. No boring lectures here. And as we passed landmarks little anecdotes were told, very endearing. Even though there were no sunsets to be seen, this is THE port tasting experience in Porto. Thank you Nadia and Paulo!

We had a wonderful time on this sunset boat tour in Porto! We sat on the outside seating on the boat and were very comfortable, when it got colder we were immediatly offered blankets. It felt like the whole experience was well planned and thought through. The views of the city from the water were stunning, and the experience was made even better with a delicious cheeseboard, drinks, and a lovely port wine tasting. The couple who run the tour are so warm and welcoming, and they also share interesting explanations about the landmarks along the river, which made the ride even more special. Generaly the whole experience felt very personal and authentic – truly a highlight of our trip and highly recommended!
