Wonderful evening. Yi was a mine of information and introduced us to many Cambodian culinary delights. Was a fantastically authentic goody evening
Thank you so much for your feedback! Great to hear that you guys have fantastic time.
It started well. Phat arrived on time and we headed off to the Tuk-tuk, fortunately the group was small and we all fitted. However, as it was the Chinese New Year most local family food restaurants were shut. In fact, we ended up visiting only one on the list – another two were rustled up, almost at random as we passed by, with Phat asking them as we slowed down whether they were open. The tour promised to eat like a local and it was true to its word, we sat on tiny chairs in the street, eating what ever that course was. However, what was missing, was information about the food, its origins and history. Phat told me the cost was about $2 a course. We seemed to be finding the cheapest standard food around, I was expecting to find some real nuggets and maybe engage with the local cooks. We were through three courses in 90 minutes and then spent 20 mins beetling down the road in the tuk to the Russian market for a stall which sold desserts, but of course that was closed. It really would have been good to phone ahead! The promise of unlimited beers never materialised (I was asked once) but that was minor. In the end, I suggested that rather than go for our last course, which was billed as “cocktails” in a high rise, (which might not be open) we adjourned to a Cambodian craft brewery, which is how the tour ended. Although Phat was apologetic, this wasn’t a good experience. The food was unremarkable, of dubious quality and not the evening I expected. The next day, I wasn’t well. It was memorable for the wrong reasons, the best bit was the beer! We were all done in just over two hours and this included about 60 minutes of cumulative transport time. Trip Advisor suggested that the tour would take four hours. The cost is £55 per person, so at this price, expectations are high and when delivery is so poor, it leaves a bad taste.
Thank you for your feedback. We take pride in providing authentic local food experiences, even during holidays when some primary locations may be closed. Our guide, Phat, is highly experienced and specifically offered several backup local food and dessert options when our usual stops were unavailable. However, as you mentioned feeling full at the time, these were declined. Regarding the final stop, Phat offered a curated cocktail experience which you chose to skip in favor of a venue you had previously visited. Finally, our tours focus strictly on culinary and cultural experiences; we remain a neutral, non-political service. We appreciate your honesty and hope you enjoyed the flavors you did sample.
Nice trip to do. Worth doing as we would not have found or eaten in the places. Food was very good and guide was a nice guy.
Thank you for your feadback, We are happy to hear that you are enjoyed it...
A fantastic way to see a lot of the city and try some authentic foods with a brilliant guide (Pat). We were driven round in a tuk tuk and sampled food in 5 restaurants finishing with a cocktail and a view at the Sundowner Social club. This was such a good way to spend our first night in Phnom Penh to get to know the area and pick up lots of tips. All of the restaurants were clean and there were plenty of vegetarian options and huge amounts of food! Pat was friendly, highly knowledgeable and great fun!! We would highly recommend this tour especially if you are only in Phnom Penh for a short time.
We're appreciated for your feedback, and also happy to hear that you're had a fantastic tour with Pat and expaicaly enjoyed the local foods ..
We had a great evening with Lee and 1 other couple, exploring Phnom Penh’s food scene and its Russian night market. Lee has a wealth of knowledge about his country, the city and, of course, food. He was informative, insightful and fun! We made 5 scheduled stops in total, travelling by tuk-tuk, which was a great way to get around. And, if we spied something that looked interesting while we were on the go, Lee would pop out and get us a taste. This was much appreciated and very generous of him. We chose this tour because it seemed to have the greatest focus on offering a variety of food and to offer the widest range of eating experiences. Lee delivered perfectly! The tour was well-organised and everything worked seamlessly. Plenty of water and beer was available. We ended our evening in a charming sky bar overlooking the Russian market, for cocktails. Highly recommended.
Thank you for your feedback, We are happy to hear that you guys enjoyed it!!!!!

Thank you for your feedback!
A wonderful way to experience local food at its best , and avoiding the expensive commercialised places that cater for tourists. Mr Lee was so obliging and helpful and structured the tour so well
Thank you for your feedback, We gland that enjoyed!
Get amongst the truly authentic local food scene on this perfectly curated and expertly guided food tour. Lee, our guide, not only delivered on the culinary experience but he also provided some great insights to how the friendly folk of Cambodia live and enjoy life. Central to that is the wonderful food they enjoy. Do this tour, it’s a great way to introduce yourself to Khmer culture and cuisine, and getting the best out of Phnom Penh.

Thanks again for joining us — we hope to welcome you back for another culinary in the future with friends or family.
Great tour with Phat. We are only in PP for 24hrs, so wanted to try and get to the heart of the local food scene. Phat was excellent (as was the tuc tuc driver) we visited many family run local restaurants and tried a variety of local dishes. On our own we would have never tried all these places and foods, although we avoided insects etc!! We finished walking around a night market, where all the traders were preparing many different food, fish, duck, sweets etc, and a cocktail at a ‘sky bar’ over the market. Phat was great talking to us about many aspects of life in PP and wider Cambodia.
We happy to hear that you guys had fantastic time and enjoyed the local foods , have safe trip ...
Lee was an enthusiastic and very friendly guide, and this was a brilliant introduction to Khmer food, how to flavour it and how to eat it. He took us to long established restaurants known for their quality rice noodles, rice pancakes and fried noodles, and then for three main course dishes. All were delicious and we also squeezed in a walk around near the Independence Monument. Beer and water were freely available throughout. The biggest eye opener was the street traders around the Russian Market where we were shown foods you would never see in the West being sold in decidedly unhygienic conditions, but a great experience nevertheless. The only negative were the deserts. They didn't appeal, but we still tried them just in case we were wrong... We weren't!! We finished the evening with cocktails in a sky bar overlooking the street traders around Russian Market before being whisked back to our hotel by our ever attentive and careful Tuc Tuc driver. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would recommend doing this 4hr tour with Lee.
It sounds like you had an amazing and immersive experience with Lee! It’s great that you got to dive deep into the flavors of Khmer food and learn more about the culture. The street food around the Russian Market must have been quite the adventure, even if it was a bit shocking to see how different it was from what we’re used to in the West. I can totally relate to the desert experience—sometimes you just have to try them, even if they don’t quite hit the mark! It’s awesome that you finished off with a view of the market from the sky bar—what a way to wrap up the night! Safe travel !
