Palace District Evening Culinary, Wine, and History Walk

Beskrivelse

Rejseplan
Palace District (Palota Negyed, VIII).
Palace District (Palota Negyed, VIII).

We had the best time with Andy! Our group of 4 ended up being the only people on the tour and it felt like hanging out with a friend that knew a ton of great info! The drinks and food were all delicious and we got to try everything we wanted, while also learning a lot about the area. If you like good wine, great stories, and delicious food - this tour is a must!
One of the absolute highlights of this tour was our guide, Anok (hopefully I remembered the name correctly). She was incredibly knowledgeable, social, and engaging, and truly made the whole experience special. Her passion for Budapest’s history and culture really came through, and she created such a warm and enjoyable atmosphere throughout the evening. The wines were excellent, and we loved getting to try authentic Hungarian food that we probably would never have discovered on our own. Everything felt genuine and thoughtfully chosen. If you are considering this tour, I highly recommend it — especially if you get lucky enough to have Anok as your guide!
A fantastic tour! We met our guide Angela at Taste Hungary, expecting to be part of a small group. As it turned out, we were the only customers for the evening, and had a great private tour! We started at Taste Hungary, tasting several wines and learning about Hungary's various wines and areas of cultivation. We then proceeded to several excellent local restaurants in the Palace District, wrapping up with dessert in the elegant cafe of the Hotel Astoria. Throughout, Angela provided a great running narrative of the history of the district, the various palaces, and Budapest in general. The food was uniformly excellent. Highly recommend!
Great tour. Our guide was fabulous and enjoyed the food and drinks. Tour giuide gave outstanding history and understanding of Hungarian food.
Our guide was excellent. She knew her history, but didn’t inundate us with it. She understood we were there to have some fun and get some knowledge. We started at a wine shop. The young man who educated us on the history of Hungarian wine really knew his subject.. Enjoyed the red wine in particular and the charcuterie tray. Truly enjoyed the other stops on this tour, especially the last one for dessert.
Tour began with informative wine tastings and hors d’œuvres, then a stroll around historic Pest learning the significance of many buildings with stops for snacks and drinks. Then a delicious meal at a non-touristy restaurant. After another walk we ended at a traditional cafe for typical Hungarian pastries.
Excellent tour. Our guide was Angela. She was very knowledgeable about the food and wines we tried. And, she provided lots of history of the area. Our group had 6 people, so it was very manageable. The food highlight was the ghoulash soup, very tasty and warming. We visited about 5 different restaurants and bars.
My wife and I went on the “Palace District Evening Culinary & Wine Walk, with a Side of History.” Our guide was Aniko. This was our third program with Taste Hungary; on a previous visit to Budapest, we went to one of their wine-tasting dinners, and a tour of vineyards on the way from Budapest to Vienna. On this tour, we brought along other family members. We started off with a delicious charcuterie board and wine tasting at the Tasting Table. The tour was like a multi-course dinner, except that different courses were consumed in different establishments, with the final stop a hotel known for its pastries. There was not too much walking — a good thing as it was raining steadily on the evening we went. It was a delicious taste of the city, and it was our third great experience with Taste Hungary.
A very enjoyable evening . We started off with a tutored tasting of 3 excellent Hungarian wines with Carlo( sp?,) a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic sommelier, accompanied with cheese, sausage and something new to us, bread dipped in pumpkin seed oil. Anika ( sp?) led us on the tour of the Palace district of Pest with an excellent historical and social commentary. We visited a pub in the student district for a froccs, a charming patio restaurant for goulash and a generous charcuterie platter with accompanying wines, a Palinka bar and finished the evening at the historical Astoria cafe for a lovely dessert platter. This was a walking tour, and having just arrived in Budapest, we found this a very pleasant way to help get over jet lag
Wonderful experience. Wine tasting, appetizers, and history of Hungarian wines at their shop and then walking tour with food and wine stops in the Palace district with a dinner stop and then a dessert/coffee stop. Fantastic!
