This is a historic tour about Nevis's history and present day life. We enjoyed the tour and learning about Nevis.
Elaine, we enjoyed having you and your husband on our Charlestown Walking Tour. Glad you enjoyed it.
WORST TOUR EVER - the operator thelocals 869 is dishonest and does not provided promised items. Left us at ferry terminal high and dry with no promised transportation to cruise terminal. Alcohol - promised, not provided. Operator lies when challenged. RUN - worst tour ever - have taken dozends of them. VIATOR did not support the customer - BEWARE. Use another booking service
The tour described does not belong to us (transportation and alcohol are not included or promised in our walking tours). Note also that we are not the operator (869) you have mentioned.
There really isn't much to this tour. Our ferry from Basseterre was 20 minutes late and yet our tour ended 10 minutes earlier than the original scheduled time. We learned very little about the island that we didn't know already from a Google search before we arrived. Our guide Willroy was friendly and answered our questions but we seemed to run out of things to talk about. This was not a good value tour.
Thank you for your feedback. We are sad that you were not satisfied with your experience. We had a discussion with the guide who explained that the tour was abriviated at your request. There seemed to have been a clear misunderstanding and we apologize for that and have had a talk with the guide to ensure there is not a future occurance.
Our guide Willroy was very sweet and friendly, but the tour itself felt rather cursory: only 45 minutes as opposed to the advertised 90 minutes, and we felt that landmarks and sites were more just pointed out than discussed from an in-depth historical point of view. We felt rather unsatisfied, especially for the price.
We are so sorry to hear that the tour was not what was expected. We are investigating to find out why that was the case, and will take necessary steps to rectify it.
We had a great little tour of Charlestown with Wilroy. He showed us many sites around the square, as well as some great history lesson about Nevis. We had a bonus! It was Good Friday. Everything was closed. But he shared some local culture with us, as the locals celebrated Easter. It was amazing! Highly recommend!
Seeing Alexander Hamilton birth place and statue. Disappointed was not provided a bottle of water like stated on tour and did not end up at museum as stated on description.
It was fascinating to hear all of the historical connections between the US and Nevis. Our guide, Greg. Was very knowledgeable as well a personable!
It was an absolute pleasure to meet Greg and get a walk around with him! He turned up on time (+100 points :), helped me to store my bike while being on foot (caring gesture) and so much more... I was the only tourist participating so I thought for a moment - it`d have been shorter and perhaps even monotone, but the opposite was the case. If you`re on Nevis for the first time and get intrigued by the local history, this is it! Tour was factual enough to be interested but not too long and boring to yawn. Great social skills, lots of knowledge and being open to any questions and discussions. I learnt not just about the history, but also current social subjects... You just name it! If I come back to the islands in the future, I will be aiming to get to other tours. Nevis summit is no. 1 on the list and I can`t wait! Thank you very much! Elena
Did the walking tour with Derek, who met me at the ferry port and was a wealth a knowledge about the island. As we walked from the port through town, we hit the Alexander Hamilton birthplace and museum, a very interesting city tour with loads of local history and finally, a stop at the hot springs. If you go with Derek, he may even take you to meet his Mom at her cafe, which was an unexpected pleasure. Had a great time and made it back to my cruise ship in St Kitts in plenty of time.
Visited with my 8 yo daughter and 70 year old parents. In spite of extreme heat, we all enjoyed the walking tour and our guide did an excellent job of moving us into shade whenever possible. We got a good feel for the place because he seemed to know all the locals and they did not miss an opportunity to extend a cheerful greeting.
