Joe was an amazing tour guide, he was extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife and the national park. Joe was extremely kind and gave an amazing insight into local culture, this is a must do experience for those that enjoy nature!
Many thanks for a really good review, your happy of Chiangmai visit is our priority we are trying our best.
Absolutely wonderful day! First time birdwatching. Joe was very knowledgeable and showed us some beautiful and rare birds. The hike with Boo was stunning.
Birding in the morning with Ming, who knows exactly where to be and when to find some of the local endemic species. Take a light jacket. A hike thru the jingle nature path with local Karen tribe member Nee was terrific. This tour is a peefect balance of birding, hiking, and culture. I am 75, female, with bad knees, and i did find some of the hiking challenging so take one of the walking sticks offered at the beginning of the hike. Waterfalls are spectacular. I rarely pay money to go birding. I would not have found these birds on my own. Thank you Ming and Nee!
You start early and get to Doi Inthanon and birdwatch at two different spots with Joe, who is knowledgeable about birds. Then you go on a really beautiful hike with a local guide, passing by a beautiful waterfall. At the end, you get a local, fresh cup of coffee and then drive to a local lunch. Overall, a really enjoyable day at Doi Inthanon (the views are great!). Would recommend!
Joe is a master of nature. In particular with birds. He is so nice and welcoming. Taught us about birds with a special book, took us to a hike with a very fascinating local guide and also took us to a great local restaurants for amazing Thai lunch. He also has a comfortable car and a generous and kind guide willing to share knowledge.
This tour was a lot of fun. The day started early with over two hours of bird watching at two locations at the park. It was a windy, wet day, so there were not as many birds out. I would recommend bringing a light jacket or hoodie as it can be chilly at the top of the mountain. After looking for birds, I went on a two hour water fall hike. The Hmong park guide was interested in birds, so I was able to continue doing some bird watching while hiking. The hike was fairly easy, but had some slippery spots due to rain. It can be done in less than 2 hrs, but it was nice to take my time and look at butterflies, birds, and plants. Lunch on the way back was tasty. Overall, this was a good tour.
Joe was very friendly and easy going, very knowledgeable about the birds at Doi Inthanon. As an experienced birder , he was able to give me a few tips about handling my camera as well. I had a great time, will definitely recommend to my friends
Many thanks for review, come enjoy nature and see the birds with us.
We really enjoyed this birdwatching experience with Joe! He was very knowledgeable about the birds, their names and enabled us to spot many different species (about 20, including multiple relatively rare ones - all beautiful). The guided walk through the forest was also interesting with a possibility of tasting and buing some local coffee. Everything run smoothly and the communication was on point.
Joe is a local who knows and loves the area—and who loves to share the area’s treasures. He took me to two birding hotspots where we saw some target birds and one rarity! The hike with the Karen guide through the mountains to her village was a delight.
We really enjoyed our day with Joe. We learned a lot about Chiang Mai, birds in the park, sampled home grown coffee and saw gorgeous vistas. And the lunch khao soi was delicious!
