Beliggende i Chiang Mai-provinsen er Doi Inthanon det højeste bjerg i Thailand, der rejser sig 2.565 meter over havets overflade. Doi Inthanon National Park har masser af fantastiske variationer i sin frodige geografi og skov. Det er hjemsted for regnskov, blandet skov og fyrreskov. Formålet med Phra Maha Dhatu Nabha Metaneedol var at bygge til ære for kong Bhumibol Adulyadejs 50-års fødselsdag i 1987, og Phra Maha Dhatu Nabhapol Bhumisiri bygger til ære for dronning Sirikits 50-års fødselsdag i 1995. Begge steder kan man se den smukke udsigt over Doii uhindret. Inthanon Efter at have besøgt pagoderne vil du besøge Hmong-markedet, hvor du kan købe lokale produkter såsom frisk frugt, blomster osv., så spiser du frokost før trekkingaktiviteten.

Such an amazing experience, so many fun activities packed into one day the host was so friendly and gave us options according to the weather and to our comfort level. The elephant experience was something I won’t ever forget, as well as the hike to the highest spot in Thailand and through the waterfalls into the Rice fields really amazing.

Good day out! Elephant sanctuary was very nice, compared to other instances of elephant sightings in Thailand, you can tell that these animals are well looked after and taken care of. Doi Inthanon was a bit disappointing, but due to the foggy weather, the pagodas weren’t as visible. Trail was fun! 2.6km or so, be prepared to walk in varying terrain. And the village visit after was nice.

Very nice experience in the sanctuary. Hiking through the rice fields was also great and ending it with coffee tasing.

Beautiful busy day where we visited several sites with a very friendly guide (Mark) who knows the region and the elephants well. He gives us good information on all the places visited. The hike is on rugged terrain but the rice fields, the waterfall, and the forest are magnificent. The meal is excellent.

Well organised and efficient trip which covered the essentials. Great experience with the elephants and hassle free transport and relaxing hike. Our guide was exceptional and the trip started and ended as scheduled.

A lovely day trip to see the elephants and have a great walk/hike through lovely rice fields. Doi Inthanon was cloudy the day we went, but still was a nice view, and the guide gave our group the option to skip for more time with the elephants if we didn’t want the cloudy vista. The sanctuary felt ethical and the animals seemed well treated and safe, and that made this a highlight of our stay!
