Unique and fun experience! Our guide was skilled in moving between two languages, described everything clearly and effectively. We loved seeing the monkeys up close! We also appreciated the attention of the guide and driver to make sure we had at least one sloth sighting!
Meeting the monkeys in their natural habitat was an incredible experience The guides showed concern for the animals and displayed patience with the animals.
DRESS CODE: Active wear with COMFORTABLE SHOES that you can hike in. We did this tour the on the 2nd day of our 7 day trip to Panama. It was awesome!! We caught an uber to one of the official pickup spots at 6:20am. Trust me getting up early is worth it and the best time. They were on time and communicative. Emilio was exceptional from the start! He conducts the tour in both Spanish and English. Very knowledgeable about everything. The sloth you get to see through a shared special scope and he even helps you take videos of it. We were extremely lucky to have a sloth awake and moving! Next was the boat ride and money interaction. Being that early in the morning and on the lake I wished I would’ve dressed warmer or have a light jacket. The monkey interaction was top tier! You cannot touch them but they run all through the boat and seats so everyone will have a close interaction for pics and videos. After that you get a good snack at a little restaurant and rest before a mini hike. I did not know there would be a mini hike. That should be in the listing so people know to wear/bring shoes to be comfortable. U have the option to stay in the bus with AC and WiFi but I was having such a good time I did it in sandals. Not the best idea because I felt every rock but I made it and it was worth it. Emilio was such a great conversationalist as well. We exchanged stories about our cultures. Another act of service by Emilio was dropping us directly to our Air BnB instead of taking us to our pick up spot. Though it was in the same vicinity, that small kindness meant a huge difference.
Loved this activity! You go on a smaller sized open boat and see a variety of monkeys that come right up to the boat! Also some great views on the canal and of the cargo ships that cruise through it.
Does what it says on the tin. 3 monkey species and a Sloth. Good pick up arrangements, excellent commentary on the canal and then the boat ride brought us close to the ships, which was a highlight. Then the wildlife was as advertised. Only downside (and big downside) was the boat drivers revving their engines to illicit howls from the Howler Monkeys. Totally unethical and in a national park.
Highlights: Nice, clean air conditioned bus; bonus history about the Panama Canal; being on the actual canal; seeing all 3 types monkeys, both types of sloths, and bonus wildlife. Lowlights: Pickup was not personalized as advertised; bus seats were super small; no bathroom option prior to boat tour; nature hike at end (1/2 mile down and back a dirt road, up and down inclines, to basically see nothing but ants); animal sightings and interaction not guaranteed (obviously varies)
Monkeys were super entertaining. Pick up and drop off was ultra convenient. Exceptional value for the money. Guides went to great lengths to ensure we saw ample wildlife.
We were picked up from our hotel when they said and though the drive to the boat trip was about an hour, time passed quickly with a lively and informative narration from our guide, Alex. The boat trip was brilliant. My wife steered us to the front of the boat (she had done her research on Tripadvisor) but I think the experience was good wherever you sit. We saw loads of capuchin and tamarind monkeys and got brilliant photo opportunities. There were also other animals and birds. On the walk we finally saw a sloth and had plenty of time to watch and photograph it. The whole afternoon flashed by and the trip was well worth the time and money. We were able to pay for the boat by card or cash (be aware it is not included in the tour price but it is the main attraction of the trip). The walk was also interesting and is not too strenuous. I am 70 and could keep up and enjoyed it enormously, ants and sloth were the highlights.
Yaz was very personable, polite, knowledgeable and fun! Carlos did a great job driving the van! 10/10 would recommend this tour!
Great experience! Very knowledgeable tour guide. He was truly amazing and had a great sense of humor.
