Madagaskar Wildlife Tour i 02 dage

Beskrivelse

Great tour company. We did a four day trip with them to the Andasibe area. Saw boatloads of lemurs of many different kinds (including Indri). Visited Peyerias (possible I misspelt that), Andasibe, Anamalazaotra, Mantadia, VOIMMA Community Reserve, and Vakona. Strongly recommend all, but especially liked VOIMMA because they do day AND night nature walks and employ all local people. Very good conservation effort. We stayed at the Mantadia Lodge, which we loved and also highly recommend. Traveled with my husband and son. We all enjoyed having lemurs jump on us at Peyerias and Vakona (obviously). Husband and son most enjoyed the VOIMMA night walks. I most enjoyed burning the calories entailed in seeing loads of Indri (good exercise and a good result).
Back in 2009 my wife and I toured Madagascar and after a long search of tour operators selected Rijatours to arrange a tour focused on the Tsiribihina river and Morondava. We had a good time so for a return visit to Madagascar in spring 2025 we again contacted Rija at Rijatours to arrange a tour from Tana through the southwest to the Toliara area, this time taking our 13 year old son. The tour took us from the central highlands to the rainforest of Ranomafana Park, through the rocky terrain of Isalo, and finishing at the beach at Ifaty. We really enjoyed the trip; with a limited amount of time available Rija put together a good itinerary, which immediately faced a challenge when our flight into Tana arrived with us but without our luggage (tip, if you are coming via flight connections, as we did from Cairo through Addis Ababa, carry on your bags rather than check them). Since we expected our bags to come the next day (thankfully they did), Rija on the spot helped us come up with an alternative plan, finding us a hotel near the airport (in a neighborhood with good eating options) and an activity the next day to fill time before getting out bags at the airport (the crocodile farm, which turned out to be a highlight of the trip). We had to cut out a bit of the itinerary and one night on the road but were able to hit the bulk of the route, not least due to the great driver that Rija provided, Jean Claude, who skillfully managed the challenges of the roads of Madagascar (traffic out of the capital, night driving due to the former, rain, mud/ruts/potholes, etc.) and handled repairs when needed (the 4x4 was pretty new and in fine shape and comfortable, but the road conditions took their toll). The guides at Ranamofana Park (excellent lemur and other wildlife spotting), Isalo Park, and Ifaty (entertaining visit to the Baobab reserve) were excellent. Rija was good to work with in selecting lodging, and the standard of the hotels was high (the places near the airport on first and last nights a little less so, but these were selected on short notice). We felt that the cost of the trip was good value, and we have recommended Rija to friends, and one has just finished up a trip he arranged for them. We appreciate Rija for making our trips to Madagascar, over 15 years apart, a success!
Absolutely excellent. The comp could not have been better in organising the tour. The driver and guide friendly. The guided tours into the parks were very well done, saw lemurs and chameleons, the guides very knowledgeable. Enjoyed the tour so much i am planning a longer visit to Madagascar organ by Francis and his wonder team.
I missed my flight to Antanarivo, I contacted the tour company and they were able to pick me up from the airport and help me make up for lost time, that meant the world to me, I didn’t want to miss out on this experience. The transport to each reserve was exceptional. Tojo’s driving skills were excellent and communicated well with us regarding the plan. Each location had a tour guide with great knowledge of the species, how and where to find them. Overall very accommodating.
Just FYI. This 2 day tour includes 6-8 hours driving on ruff roads. Just to get to we’re you will be hiking 3-5 hours each day. I went in May and I advise hiking shoes it’s very muddy and slippery. The hotel was very cold and had no heat. Also no hot water. So there was no taking a shower. Guides are very nice and you do get to see the animals up close.
Thank you Brian_G. I am sorry that you had that bad experience with this tour. I understand that Madagascar asphalted road is often considered as a ruff roads for some people. This is one of the best road that you can find in Madagascar :) Normally, it takes more or less 4 hours drive to get there depending on the traffic. You leave Antananarivo at 7:00AM and you visit Perieyras reserve for some hours before arriving to Andasibe. It may make you feel it like longer. The hotel at Andasibe (Cyperus or Vakona) are amongst the best even if they are not luxury. Most of our guest like them. They are supposed to have hot water. If it doesn't work, you can ask the reception to check it or to give you another room if necessary. To be honest with you, very few lodges in Madagascar have heater.
This tour was fantastic! Everyone from the tour and all guides were kind, knowledgeable, and professional. Our lodging was also very nice. Would recommend this tour to anyone who is on a visit to Madagascar!
Absolutely fantastic tour, my driver was lovely and the guides excellent. I saw so much more than I was expecting, lots of lemurs and chameleons. The guides were endlessly pointing out creatures so well camouflaged I would never have seen them. The hotel I stayed in was lovely, and I am already planning to go back to Madagascar and plan a trip with the same company.
Great way to see highlights of Madagascar wildlife in a short period of time. Lemurs were guaranteed based on all the destinations.
Amazing tour and company. Our driver Angelico was fantastic:) We saw so many lemurs and stayed at a great resort hotel!
I had very limited time to travel in Madagascar (2 days) but I wanted to see as much as possible. Francis was amazing at helping me plan my itinerary and responded to my many questions! I did a 2 day, 1 night tour to Andasibe-Mantadia National Park and was amazed at how much we were able to see and fit in, it felt much longer. Francis was a wonderful and gracious tour guide providing me with insights into the culture and customs of Madagascar. Aside from the incredible biodiversity and the wonderful lemurs, I was struck by how the tourist industry is still reeling from Covid-19. I was told tourism is at 10% of what is was prior to the pandemic. Much relies on tourism as does the upkeep of the protected rainforest and the communities that live around them. Now is a great time to plan a trip to Madagascar and Sobeha Tours is fantastic all round :)
