For mange besøgende til Peru og endda Sydamerika er et besøg i Inca byen Machu Picchu det langvarede højdepunkt for deres rejse. På en fantastisk beliggenhed er det det mest kendte arkæologiske sted på kontinentet. Denne ærefrygtinspirerende gamle by blev aldrig åbenbaret til de erobrede spanierne og blev næsten glemt indtil begyndelsen af det 20. århundrede.

På 3,55 er hotelopkøb begynder, så vær tidligt og klar til at gå! Du bliver kørt til togstationen i Ollantaytambo, hvor du vil fange 6,40 am toget, der ankommer til Aguas Calientes omkring kl 08.00. Ved ankomsten vil din guide møde dig på togstationen i Aguas Calientes for at tage dig til bussen op til Machu Picchu. Bussen er cirka 30 minutter. Du skal ankomme til Machu Picchu klokken 8.45, og indtaste stedet. Under en tur gennem dette storslåede sted vil din tosproget guide forklare alt om det historiske sted Machu Picchu, og du besøger alle de store steder i den fortabte by. Den guidede tur tager cirka 2,5 til 3 timer. Bagefter har du fri tid til at vandre rundt og beundre dette ærefrygt-inspirerende sted alene. Det er muligt at forlade stedet for at spise en snack i caféen og derefter genindtaste. Din billet gælder for hele dagen. Valgfrit: Du kan klatre i Huayna Picchu-bjerget (billetter skal købes på tidspunktet for dit Machu Picchu-køb), som er en 1,5 til 2-timers rundrejse. Denne tur er uden vejledning. Indgangstiden er kl. 10.00-11.00, så hvis du vælger at tage denne tur, bliver din guidede tur hurtigere for at komme i tide for at komme ind i Huayna Picchu. Herefter kommer du ned til Aguas Calientes, byen, der er opkaldt efter sine varme kilder. Du kan komme dertil med bus: det er en 30-minutters tur, og busser forlade hvert 5. minut. Derefter vender du tilbage med tog til Cusco. Du kan vælge 4.12 pm toget for at vende tilbage direkte til Cusco, eller klokken 19.00 at vende tilbage til Ollantaytambo - togstationen er cirka 1 time og 40 minutter. En minibus venter i Ollantaytambo for at tage dig til Cusco (ca. 90 min).

Try to find a taxi to get to the station and to come back you will save at least 3 hours because in the morning the bus goes around the hotels and the same for the return
Courteous people but precarious structure. Breathtaking landscapes along the way. Long distance but worth seeing. I highly recommend it.
Heidi did an excellent job coordinating our last minute plan to Machu Picchu. She picked us from the train station and sent us our way to Machu Picchu with clear instructions and accommodations . She couldn’t buy entrance tickets due to local protesting but her tour guide was able to help us get tickets. Ronals (aka Ronaldo) was our tour guide. He was very knowledgeable of the Machu Picchu history! Also, he was a great professional photographer (for free!) Follow his Instagram @samanezronal NO worries or stress with Heidi! The experience was one of a kind! We were up at Machu Pichu before Sunrise, when the sun came up it was a one in a life time experience.
Everything was planned as they mentioned and amazing as they described it. The whole experience I had transportation and guidance when needed. They were always waiting ahead in each point of the experience. I didn’t feel lost.
As soon as we contacted Heidi, she carefully planned our three day Cusco trip. She’s a pro and knew exactly what we were looking for. A half day city tour where we toured the historic city of Cusco and it’s nearby archeological sites. A trip through the Sacred Valley where we made various stops through its picturesque towns and ancient sites. And an overnight stay in Ollantaytambo before departing via train the next morning for our visit to the incredible archeological site of Machu Picchu. The perfect hotels and wonderful tour guides made it a trip to remember. After a difficult year for all of us, Heidi made us feel welcomed to Cusco and the region and made sure our trip was safe and organized. Though some restrictions are still in place because of the ongoing pandemic, all of the trip is outdoors and did not interfere with our stay. EXCELLENT!!!!!!! I honestly cant describe the experience i had but its definitely one i will remember forever.
