Bernie and Benji were our guides and were amazing. They ensured we got the most enjoyment throughout my trip and for our entire group. Everything was extremely well organized, prepared, and debriefed so we knew what to expect and when. For any challenges that cropped up, they knew how to handle it, even for some of us who struggled a bit on the challenging 2nd day with cardio, they sent us a few minutes earlier on the trail ahead of the main pack so we could go at our own pace and enjoy the trek. They were entertaining as well when interacting with the group during the trek or down time. I enjoyed their detailed lectures on the ancient history and sites we visted during the trip. 10/10.

A simply amazing experience that we’d highly recommend! A family of 5 adults we did the luxury 4 day trail. Some amazing views and history to discover and understand more about. The whole team were amazing including the porters, chefs and tour guides. Can’t believe how much stuff they had to move from one camp site to the next. The trial was challenging! 45km with very high inclines and descents that we didn’t even know existed. So good to have a level of fitness and endurance to enjoy it all. We loved it all.

this was absolutely amazing - our guides, Raul and Yadira, were so kind, knowledgeable, and fun! They were patient with all of us and contributed to an amazing experience. Our chef, Sebastian, was beyond talented. The food was delicious - no idea how he made such delicious meals after days of walking. And the porters were so helpful and skilled. Definitely recommend this team and experience!

Incredible experience. Everything was well organized, the food on trail was great and the scenery unmatched. Our guide, Juan Carlos Sayritupa was incredible. He knew so much about the history, flora and fauna of the trail. He made the trip incredible. The porters were friendly and watching them work was an honor. They are some of the hardest workers I’ve ever seen. Crowd size was small along the trail, often times you’ll go hours without seeing another group. Macchu Pichu is crowded, but that’s to be expected. Already planning my next adventure in Peru!

We had an incredible time on the trek. Our guides, Alvin and Johann were so knowledgeable about all the ruins and everything Inca. I learned so much from them! The trail pushed me to my limits, but I always felt safe with our guides ensuring our safety. The porters are amazing and chef Hermando was an absolute sorcerer, creating delicious dishes as if he had a full industrial kitchen to use. The accommodations were comfortable and clean and the porters spoiled us with hot water to wash up and hot tea to wake up. I also really like that this company does social outreach with the local communities along the Inca trail. If you are thinking of doing this trek, you won’t regret using this company and definitely ask for Alvin!

If you are even considering hiking the Inca Trail, Alpaca Expeditions should be the easiest choice that you make on your journey to Peru. My wife and I recently completed our trip, and I can say without any hesitation that we had a life-changing experience. Every element of the expedition was expertly planned; we were able enjoy the culture and the physical challenge without ever feeling lost in a new country. Our guide's name was Juan Carlos Huillca Sayritupa, and if you are lucky enough to have this man as your guide, he will change your life. He taught us so much about the rich history of Peru, the Incas, and the culture, and he made something that was physically challenging feel like an absolute joy. We are so grateful to both Juan Carlos and Alpaca expeditions, and we now have memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you for giving us one of the best vacations that we have ever had. Wow!!

Juan Carlos, Jose, the Chef and Porters made our hike to Machu Picchu seamless and easy. The hike itself was one of the more challenging things I’ve done. That said, all the other details were taken care of by Juan Carlos and his team. They were encouraging, kind and professional. I would recommend them to anyone considering this journey.

11/10 experience. As someone who doesn’t have ANY camping experience, this was a great decision and totally worth it. Our tour guides, Jhymy and Romario, were super light hearted, supportive, knowledgeable, funny, and overall great people. They definitely made a difference in my experience. Additionally, the food was AMAZING. It was crazy how all these foods were able to be made on the trail. Special thanks to our chef, Mijael, for all the delicious food. Lastly, the porters. Led by the head porter, Fabian, their work ethic was outstanding and over the top, leaving camp after us every morning and having the next camp fully set up before we got there in the evening. Great atmosphere and great staff. Highly recommend!!!

This experience was so incredible, and it was all due to the staff in our group at Alpaca Expeditions. Jhymy and Romario were our guides and they exceeded expectations. They were both so passionate about the mountains and the history, I learned so much! I struggled with altitude, and multiple times a day they made sure to check on me to make sure I was safe, healthy, and happy. They always kept us in the loop, with morning and night briefings of what was to come. Mijael was our chef and he made some of the best dishes I ever had. Going into the tour I wasn’t sure what the food situation would look like, but there were so many options! The daily soups were so yummy, and one of my favorite dishes was the mango ceviche. Someone in our group was gluten free, and Mijael had gluten free options at every meal. Fabian was our porter lead and he managed everything perfectly. Our tents were always set up by the time we got to camp with our duffels inside. Everyone was so kind, if I did it again I would hope to get the same staff. Special shout out to our guide Jhymy. He knew the best spots, when to leave to avoid big crowds, and his knowledge of the history was vast. He was so professional as well as had a great sense of humor. By the end of the trip, our group became a family. Overall 10/10 experience!

Jyhmy and Romario were absolutely incredible. They kept the whole group positive even through hard times and were incredibly helpful. I can’t express my gratitude enough for our guides on this trip that ensured we made the most of this once in a lifetime opportunity. I will miss them :(. The porters were incredible, led by Fabian who made sure that everything was prefect when we arrived at camp. The food was incredible as well. I couldn’t believe the exceptional quality of the food prepared by Mijael. Everyday I looked forward to sitting down and seeing what he prepared. Overall our team of guides, chefs, and porters made this experience unforgettable.
