Kl. 05.15 begynder hotel afhentninger, så vær tidligt oppe og klar til at gå! Du køres til togstationen i Ollantaytambo, hvor du fanger toget kl. 06.40 og ankommer til Aguas Calientes omkring kl. 08.00. Ved ankomst møder din guide dig på togstationen i Aguas Calientes for at tage dig til bussen, op til Machu Picchu. Bussturen er ca. 30 minutter. Du skal ankomme til Machu Picchu omkring kl. 8.45 og komme ind på stedet. Under en tur gennem dette storslåede sted vil din tosprogede guide forklare alt om det historiske sted Machu Picchu, og du besøger alle de store steder i den mistede by. Den guidede tur tager ca. 2,5 til 3 timer. Bagefter har du fri tid til at vandre rundt og beundre dette ærefrygtindgydende sted på egen hånd. Det er muligt at forlade stedet for at spise en snack på caféen og derefter gå ind igen. Din billet er gyldig for hele dagen.

We booked a trip with Machu Picchu Center and they messed up big. Without the help of Jose we wouldn’t have been able to have a guide to Machu Picchu or be able to go on the day we were supposed to.
We stayed in Hot Water Town for a night and departed at 6 a.m. and ran in line with the big bus for about 20 minutes to the entrance of Machu Picchu. The guide Jose takes us into the remains of Machu Picchu and provides detailed explanations, including the history of Peru and the origin of the discovery of Machu Picchu. The scenery of Machu Picchu is unparalleled, although we are affected by the rain and fog, we still wait patiently to have a picture of Machu Picchu. We had a total appointment of 3.5 hours, and we haven't sat down, so visitors still need some physical strength to stay for a while.

We did this full day trip to Machu Picchu with Jose Luis as our tour guide and were very amazed the way he guided us. The tour started with an early morning pickup from our hotel with a drive to the train station which took about three hours and it was very much comfortable and we managed to wink a nap. The train ride was very nice and scenic. On arrival at our destination, Jose picked us up from the train station and we boarded a bus ride up to the entrance of Machu Picchu. The guided tour of the complex was very insightful. Jose's knowledge about the Inca civilization was very impressive. The tour was well planned and we felt very much satisfied that we had it all in a day.

This trip was a highlight of our tour to Peru, needless to mention that Machu Picchu was on top of our bucket list for years. Encuentros Peru Adventure managed to organise this exceptionally well. Everything was a wonderful experience, the people at the agency were welcoming... We enjoyed the whole tour EXCELLENT DAY EXCURSION.
