Heidi was a fabulous tour guide!! She friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and made for a really delightful experience in Oxford. It is clear she knows and loves the area well. I couldn't recommend her more highly!
My wife and I love the Morse, Lewis and Endeavour TV shows and so when I saw there was a walking tour of Oxford, seeing where they filmed the shows I just had to book it. Our guide Heidi met us outside of St. John's College and made sure we were ready by handing out radio headsets so we could hear her talking during the tour and very kindly checking we had brought water, sunscreen and hats for one of the hottest days of the year. At 2pm Heidi started the tour, making sure everyone was following and stopping periodically to describe certain locations and landmarks that had been used in the shows, which episodes they came from and the background behind the stories. As it was a very hot summers day, Heidi always made sure that we had shade (where possible) before stopping. The tour was very well paced, with small amounts of walking, a description and then Heidi would hold up a photo taken from the shows (to give more context) and then we would walk to another location. This helped you to visualise the show locations and really did bring things to life and made you feel like you were stepping into the world of Morse/Lewis/Endeavour. Heidi was an absolutely superb tour guide, full of energy and enthusiasm and generously giving us snippets of information from her considerable knowledge and love of the shows. It felt like you were sharing the joy with another Morse fan. What else could you ask for? If you love Morse, Lewis and Endeavour then you absolutely must book a walking tour.
We were a group of 28 travelers from the US (12 students and 16 coworkers from a small college). Leading up to the tour itself, Heidi used clear, frequent communication. She was accommodating, splitting our group into two for the tour. My group had Felicity, and the student group had Heidi, and all were impressed with the information and delivery. This was a favorite experience for the group. The storytelling and historical context helped bring Oxford to life and made important people, places, and dates far more meaningful and memorable. We will absolutely return to Oxford in the future because of the exceptional experience they provided.

Did the ‘Inspector Morse, Lewis and Endeavour’ tour with Heidi as our guide. The tour was brilliant and I can say it is the best tour I’ve done. Everything was right with this tour. The provision of headsets meant we could hear every part of the tour, something overlooked quite frequently by a lot of operators. Heidi was excellent in her commentary, a super fan of all 3 series, able to recall a multitude of events linked to each location and as a bonus provided lots of additional Oxford history. Fantastic! If these tours are your thing, don’t miss this…

I do put my heart and soul into the tours I deliver and means such a lot to me to know that people have enjoyed ... 'the best tour you have been on' really is the highest compliment. I love my headsets and think they are a real bonus to the tour but I should point out that not all guides have these so if this is important to people, then please reach out and I can advise if the tour will have them that day. Seeing Oxford was wonderful. But the tour guide was difficult to hear, most of her stories were about her experiences with little information connecting the tour to the Morris/Lewis/Endeavour tour we requested. There were a few tidbits which we found interesting. We left the tour early.

We always aim to deliver engaging, well-informed tours led by experienced, professional guides. On the day of your tour, our guide was able to take the group into one of Oxford’s historic colleges — a rare and special opportunity, as access is not guaranteed. Inside the college, guides are required to speak quietly out of respect for the academic environment. We understand this might make it harder to hear at times, but had this been mentioned during the tour, the guide would have happily adjusted once outside to ensure you didn’t miss anything. Regarding content, our specialist tours — including those focusing on literary or filming themes like Lewis, Tolkien, Morse or Endeavour — are always structured around those topics, with the guide often including personal stories to enhance the experience. We're sorry if that balance didn’t come through clearly for you, especially as it seems you left partway through and missed the second half of the tour where many of the themed locations are covered. We always appreciate constructive feedback and will reflect on your comments as we continue to improve.
Really enjoyed it. A brilliant guide who combined her enthusiasm with a wide knowledge of Morse, Lewis and Endeavour, and a friendly personality. This gave a great tour of numerous locations in Oxford which had featured in the 3 series. Well pleased thank you.

We experienced a very enjoyable Endeavour, Morse and Lewis tour with Heidi Boon Rickard today in Oxford. My wife is a well-versed fan of Endeavour and she was bowled over by Heidi's detailed knowledge and personal observations of the series that she pointed out with great detail as we visited the various filming locations in Oxford. My wife could not have been more delighted with Heidi's stories and personal experiences with the actors. What a treat to see these locations firsthand accompanied by such a knowledgeable guide.

As first time visitors to Oxford, we really enjoyed our private tour with Heidi. She is incredibly knowledgeable, as well as personable, and was able to give us a great overview of Oxford’s history and introduced us to some of the many colleges of Oxford.
