Kør i 45 minutter fra Katakolon til Olympia med kommentarer om bord fra din guide. Når du ankommer til Olympia, nyd en guidet tur på det arkæologiske sted og museum med en officielt licenseret engelsktalende rejseguide. Så har du fri tid til at udforske den moderne by Olympia, før du vender tilbage til havnen. Vi sørger altid for, at du vender tilbage til havnen inden "alle ombord" tid. Starttidspunktet for turen afhænger af krydstogtskibets ankomsttid. Hvis skibet for eksempel ankommer kl. 09:00, starter turen kl. 09:30 i stedet for kl. 08:30.

På det arkæologiske sted, blandt flere andre rester af vigtige bygninger, vil du se gymnastiksalen og palæstra, den runde Philipeion, Phidias værksted, hvor guld- og elfenbensstatuen af Zeus blev bygget, Zeus og Heras templer, alteret, hvor den olympiske fakkel bliver tændt i nutiden og det gamle olympiske stadion.
I det arkæologiske museum rummes alle fund, der er udgravet fra det arkæologiske sted. Bronze- og leroffer (stativ og figurer), rustninger, vaser, værktøj og bæger fra Phidias' værksted, den smukke Hermes fra Praxiteles, Nike fra Paeonios og de meget imponerende og meget velbevarede klassiske statuer fra Zeus-templets frontoner osv.
Din tur fortsætter med en helt anden stemning. Den moderne landsby Olympia ligger ved siden af det arkæologiske område og museum, hvor du kan få en drink med de lokale eller udforske hovedgaden med dens mange butikker, hvor du kan finde alt fra smykker og tøj til kunst og kunsthåndværk til dig og dine kære!

We loved every minute of our tour! Our guide was informative and personable. She did an excellent job of avoiding the crowds whenever possible and gave us time to explore our surroundings in Olympia. I would definitely recommend this tour.
Wonderful adventure in Olympia. Zoe was just amazing…so knowledgeable and she added fun facts that gave the experience a nice twist. She was so professional and took great care with our group of 15. Exceptional museum and the ruins are amazing.

I loved this tour! We only had 11 people in our group and our guide was an archaeologist who was so informative about the entire site. We got there early and toured the museums first which really helped us understand the site before arriving. Our guide was fantastic and told us some stories of Greek mythology too!

Excellent tour of the archaeological sites and the museum. There is some shade at the site, but make sure you take a hat or umbrella and plenty of water as it gets very hot.

We were lucky enough to get Zoe as our guide. She’s a trained archeologist and knew an incredible amount of detail about the archeological site. The transportation was top notch and the tour ran right on schedule. Definitely take the lunch option if it’s offered. The food was authentic and very good.

Super tour to ancient Olympia with Niki Tours! Our guide, Zoe, was fantastic!!! She gave us background history during the drive. And she did a great job guiding us thru the ancient site. The stop at the olive oil press was fun - and very tasty. I highly recommend this tour - and Niki Tours in general!!!

Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Our guide (I think Shelly was her name) was extremely knowledgeable and had a good understanding of archeology and the history of Greece. She organised our small group so that we did not get stuck with the masses of 40+ people bus tourists and we had a very relaxing time and back well in time for our ships departure. She also was independent and not pushing any agendas!

Our tour to Olympia and site of the original Olympic Games was unbelievable. Our tour guide Zoey was extremely knowledgeable and walked us through the various section of the site as well as through the museum. She gave a real sense of the Olympic spirit and her descriptions of the various works of art were fantastic. The tour ended with a wonderful and delicious buffet lunch at a local restaurant which also included an OPA dance presentation. We truly felt immersed in the Olympic and Greek culture for a day. Kudos also to our bus driver who went out of his way to make our journey comfortable and minimize walking.
