Beskrivelse

From the organization to the return, everything was great and we saw some humpback whales; that was breathtaking! A suit, goggles, and gloves are provided (and you need them too 😅) and the ride itself is already magnificent and exciting! We also saw a few cute little fat puffins 😍 and all in all it was a magnificent experience! We highly recommend it ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great trip…very rough seas and difficult on back and knees…guides were great and got to see three Minke whales breaching.
It’s a bit bumpy and you will get wet; however it is worth the ride. We found minke white and two beautiful humpback whales. The puffins were adorable and we caught site of a harbor porpoise. Perfect.
Knowledgeable guides who were able to spot not ony whales and puffins but dolphins as well. We appreciated that they kept a respectful distance and are awarded with the blue flag for making a special effort to protect the environment. They answered questions along the way and there were good safety instructions, gear to keep us warm and amazing photos shared with us afterwards. Truly a great way to experience some of the aquatic beauty Iceland has to offer!
Dear Annette, Thank you for your wonderful review. We’re glad you enjoyed spotting whales, puffins, and dolphins, and that our team’s efforts to protect the environment and provide safety, warm gear, and photos made the experience even better. It’s great to hear you appreciated the guides’ knowledge and the chance to experience Iceland’s aquatic wildlife up close. Best Regards, Max & The Whale Safari Team
This experience was breathtaking and memorable for sure. Late in the evening, we were on a small boat, going fast, and chasing dolphins, wales, and puffins far away from the shore. Amazingly we got to see all of them. The only unhappy person on the boat was my son, who became very sea sick. Unfortunately, he had to suffer for the duration of the trip because there is nowhere to go. If you are prone to sea sickness, I would not recommend this trip.
We have been whale watching before, but never on such a small intimate boating experience! Our whale tour guide was Melanie, who was very kind and well-informative. Although the weather was not the best we were still able to have a GREAT time and see a humpback whale which we followed for some time. We also saw thousands of puffins which was amazing!! I’m sure on a better day you might see more but we still had such a fun time.
This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Iceland. It’s a perfect blend of adventure and awe-inspiring nature. Whether you’re a wildlife enthusiast or simply looking for a unique experience, I highly recommend this whale watching tour. It’s an unforgettable journey into the heart of Iceland’s marine wonders!
We had an incredible midnight sun (20:00) tour in perfect weather conditions with Captain Örn & Guide Eline. We saw 5 Humpback whales and many hundreds/thousands of Puffins. We headed out towards a flock of birds and moments later the first Humpback appeared. We then had numerous sightings (20-30 I'd estimate) of the 5+ whales including 3 breaches! One of which was meters away from our RIB boat! The Guide Eline was absolutely fantastic as was the piloting from Captain Örn. Incredible experience, worth every penny.
Wow, we saw 4 humpback whales when we did the 8pm trip!! We went out some 20km and it might be looking for a ‘needle in a haystack’ from our perspective but this company knew their stuff. Experienced captain Gunni along with guide Eline found them 30 minutes into the 2 hour trip. We were a small group of three but the trip still went ahead. The business provides all the weatherproof clothing for warmth, protection against the water/cold aspects and also a life vest for safety on the water. Providing also goggles and gloves, a must as traveling at high speed. Our backpacks can be stored in lockers in the building, you just need a charged phone and your camera. The whales are a sight to see, surprising even the crew with their antics and proximity to the inflatable. Which was very comfortable riding in sea craft like this. Eline was a marine biologist who shared facts on this type of whale and the birds we saw, plus more when we stopped briefly at a puffin/ seabird sanctuary. Thanks for the adventure Kiwi Susan
