Vi forlader Reykjavík og tager til lavakanalen Raufarhólshellir, hvor du skal på en times rundvisning, blot 30 minutters kørsel fra hovedstaden. Gå på stien af lava, og lær mere om tunnellens historie. Lavatunnelen er en af de største i Island, og nogle af scenerne fra filmen Noah blev optaget i hulen. Denne tur inkluderer en chauffør/guide og sikkerhedsudstyr.

Mødested er på BSI Bus Terminal
Vi besøger lavastunnelen Raufarhólshellir, der ligger kun 30 minutter fra Reykjavík. Vi vil bevidne de indre virkninger af en vulkansk udbrud, mens vi går i en lavas sti, der strømmede for tusinder af år siden. Lavandtunnelen er en af de største på Island og får op til 30 meter bred og 10 meter høj. Lava-rørets loft har hulet ind i nærheden af indgangen, hvilket skaber smukke lyskolonner. Det fantastiske udvalg af farver i tunnelvæggen skyldes de forskellige mineralarter af klippen.

Vores pickup køretøjer er godt mærket med Reykjavik Excursions. • Hver chauffør har et par stop, så det kan tage op til 30 minutter at afslutte at hente alle op, så der er ingen grund til at bekymre sig, hvis bussen ikke er der med det samme.

July 4, 2026 we were dropped off. I had to ask the ticket counter what to do. Informed me that the tour guide would be taking us in shortly. Helmets and walking poles were provided. Our tour guided us into the amazing lava tunnel. Tour guide was very knowledgeable. There are a lot of steps and uneven paths, the walking pole were very helpful. Overall I enjoyed it very much.
If unsteady on your feet, use the walking sticks! Very helpful. Guide was easy to understand and info was educational.
Wonderful adventure…..learned a lot about geology and volcanoes. Wear good shoes, the inside of the lava tube is wet!
The tunnel was interesting and the guide was knowledgeable. Be prepared that the rocks are uneven and be careful walking. They did provide walking sticks along with the helmet and light, which was helpful.

This tour was fabulous! So glad I didn’t miss it. The tunnels are amazing. Walking requires caution but it was surprisingly not slippery. Take your time to enjoy this unique environment.

Walking sticks are VERY helpful… visitors should know that ahead of time. Guide was amazing! She really filled us in on history etc

Interesting experience. Make sure you wear shoes with good tread!! And take advantage of the offered hiking poles.
