Klassisk Sacred Valley

Beskrivelse

We did a private tour of the Sacred Valley with our guide, Stiven. Our coordinator Flor and Stiven were incredibly accommodating. We weren’t feeling well that morning and had to adjust plans last minute, and they handled everything seamlessly. Despite it being Christmas Eve! Stiven learns history and his deep knowledge and passion for history shone through, making the experience unforgettable. The food they arranged was great. The weavers of Chinchero were amazing! Altogether we had an amazing trip.
The attention and warmth of the people at Conde Travel is to be recommended! Flor was attentive to every detail and accompanied us at all times. The Sacred Valley tour is wonderful, its places, history, traditions are unmissable!
We were originally booked for the 2-day Inca Trail and Machu Picchu; however, 2 days before we arrived, there was a mudslide and the Inca trail was closed. Conde Travel was very good about notifying us right away, and helping us to pick another option. We chose to do the Sacred Valley Tour for our first day, and the Machu Picchu day tour for our second day. This required a lot of arrangements on their part at the last minute, such as tickets to the sites, getting us on the bus tour, and Inca Train tickets as well, and we were impressed at how everything was handled smoothly. We also want to make special mention of our tour guide for the Sacred Valley - his name is Juancho VarOch (he goes by Juan), and even though we were added to his tour very late and the only couple who spoke English (everyone else spoke Spanish), he went out of his way to accommodate us. He not only is a very knowledgable person on Inca civilization and culture, but he expresses his love and awe of it with great enthusiasm. We learned so much, and appreciated our time in Peru (including our trip to Machu Picchu the next day) so much more because of what we learned from him. He repeated everything he talked about in Spanish and in English so that we didn't miss anything, and he timed it well, so that while the Spanish speakers explored and took photos, he spent time with us, and while we went on our own, he spent time with them. Although I usually prefer walking and hiking more than doing a bus tour, he made me glad we ended up doing this tour.
I can honestly say, I would have rated this tour a “5” based on what we saw and learned. Our tour guide, Marco, was fantastic. However the details were misleading. The description said it started at 7:00 am and would last 8 hours. I wasn’t picked up until 7:55 am and didn’t join the rest of the group until 8:20 or so. And we didn’t arrive back in Cusco until 6:30 pm. It was problematic only because I was late for my Inca Trail tour briefing and had to be up the next morning by 3:30 am to leave for my Inca Trail 4-day hike. If the details were more accurate, I would have probably chosen to skip the tour.
Door-to-door service with a good tour of Ollantaytambo. Lots to see and the Museum stop was great. Lunch was fine. The site was not for me to climb. However, I was able to see plenty from the lower levels.
