Kilimanjaro klatre, Machame Route (7-dages)

Amazing experience from initial booking to the final completion of the trip. All logistics went very smoothly. Our stay at the Aishi Machame hotel was very nice, with clean rooms, great staff, delicious food and a nice pool. Our entire group of six people successfully reached the summit. Our guides were incredible - Joshua, Joseph B and Aggere. They did a wonderful job communicating with us and helping us reach the top. The food prepared by Chef Pius and crew was plentiful and delicious. The entire crew that supported our trip was friendly, helpful and overall amazing. Would highly recommend climbing Kili with Altezza to anyone considering the trek.

Standing on the highest mountain in Africa is something I will never forget, but just as memorable are the many kindnesses shown by the Altezza team who helped me get there. The entire experience was exceptionally well orchestrated — from the booking process and communication beforehand, to the accommodations, the excellent food in camp, the summit itself, and the journey back down the mountain. The care and professionalism of the Altezza team was outstanding.

Every detail was excellent. I've climbing high altitude mountains for +15 years, and I can see the quality. If you are in doubt, go with these guys.

We had an amazing and unforgettable time. We planned 7 days, and ended up finishing in 5 Days, largely thanks to our fantastic guide, Matthew. He helped us realistically assess ourselves and guided us with great care and professionalism. We felt safe at all times and truly enjoyed the experience. Wow, I genuinely dont believe you could find a better company to go up Kili with. We felt so safe and looked after the whole way. From the kit check at the start to make sure we were prepared, to the team on the mountain. They told us facts, made jokes, danced with us, helped us put gear on and off, made sure we ate enough, 3 hot meals a day, plus tea and snacks. Both my husband and I got sick on the mountain and they couldn't have done more. But yet, still paid the same amount of attention to the rest of the group. I genuinely wouldnt have summited without their encouragement, Kelvin even sang to me to get me up the last little bit, and let me sob my heart out at the top. Mosha leads a group of incredible people. And Eric and Catherine stayed by my husband's side getting him off the mountain and into hospital (nothing to do with the climb). If youre going to climb Kili, I would say climb it with Altezza.

We climbed Kilimanjaro in February 2026 via the Machame route in 7 days. We booked the entire ascent with hotel before and after via Altezza. There were three of us and we had a private tour because it doesn’t make any difference from 3 people on price whether you go private or join a group. The complete communication in advance was very helpful and professional. All concerns and special requests were answered and fulfilled immediately. The briefing material is very extensive and makes you feel very well prepared and takes fear of potential problems on the mountain. But now for the ascent itself: Besides the three of us, 18 other people were part of our team. They include two guides, an assistant guide, a cook, a camp master, a waiter and “normal” porters. The guides Nolosco and Philemone were incredibly experienced and indescribably well prepared. They had all the necessary medication ready. The daily 2 medical checks were taken seriously, the set pace was perfectly matched to the group from Machame Gate to Uhuru Peak and the mood in the team was noticeably very good for everyone, which makes the hike much more relaxed. Knowledge of Kilimanjaro was immense, which is not surprising with over 200 ascents each. We had drawn a really happy lot with our guides and I can only recommend them to everyone. The food of John was not very varied, which is no criticism given the circumstances, but very good and perfectly matched to a kilo climb thanks to carbohydrate and protein-rich dishes. David our waiter was the mascot of the team he took care of us constantly, always smiled on his lips and even taught us some Swahili. In general, the mood among the Porters was always noticeably good, which gave us a good feeling as a Touris given the incredibly demanding job. Thanks to the KPAP certification, they are also paid fairly and Altezza makes sure that their equipment is suitable for the mountain. Without Porter, this adventure would not be possible to make sure that they are doing well, so in our opinion it is a given. Overall, we can highly recommend Altezza as a provider, clearly it is not the cheapest but incredibly professional with excellent guides, which is the most important for a successful ascent, satisfied porters and helpful staff. We would definitely book again with Altezza.

I completed the Machame route with Elia’s amazing crew. All of the guides were experienced, skilled, knowledgeable and cared about each climber and his or her safety and experience. I don’t think I have ever met a more generous and kind group of people. Thank you to the waiters and the chefs for the wonderful food and service (tea and meal times were always a highlight), the camp masters (their attention to detail includes cleaning our poles, boots and gators), the summit supporters (carried bags on the most challenging night of my life) the greenhouse attendant (a life saver) and the amazing porters who made it all possible (they never failed impress with their efficiency, speed and fitness)! I wish I could thank each person individually for truly contributing to the trip of a lifetime. Special shout out to Kassim for the great banter and an amazing summit video! I highly recommend Altezza and would absolutely book again!

Had a wonderful week in the mountain. Francis (lead guide) accompanied by Gama, Godson and Mohammad led us brilliantly through the mountain oozing with knowledge, confidence and humor. They made for an as easy as possible ascent, and gave us all alot of laughs along the way. Everyone was brilliant! Alex and Essau (campmasters) were great hardworkers taking good care of us, and Ezikiel and Alex (waiters) were good fun for everyone. Great trip. Recommend these guys to anyone going!

His leadership and expertise were nothing short of extraordinary. He managed our diverse group masterfully and inspired us to exceed limits we didn’t know we had. I am truly grateful to have had him as our guide. The rest of the crew was equally outstanding.
