Imbros Gorge Tour fra Rethymno

Oplev Imbros-kløften, som er den næstmest populære slugt for vandrere på Kreta efter Samaria-kløften. Hovedårsagerne til dette er, at det er meget nemmere at gå end Samaria. For det andet er Imbros-kløften lettere at få adgang til, og på trods af at den er meget mindre i størrelse end Samaria, er der nogle mange spektakulære sektioner.

Imbros Gorge er med en længde på 8 km den næstlængste kløft på vores ø. Den løber næsten parallelt med Samaria-kløften. Selvom den ikke er så kendt som den berømte Samaria-kløft, er den en ægte naturlig skønhed, især interessant på grund af dens fantastiske frodige vegetation. Mange kretensiske endemiske planter og blomster er hjemme der. Det kræver de fleste vandrere cirka 3 timer af en forholdsvis let gåtur. Du har brug for behagelige stærke sko eller kondisko. Bagefter tager vores bus os til Frangokastello eller til Chora Sfakion, hvor vi kan svømme eller nyde et måltid på de lokale taverner.

Terrible organisation from the tour company which was incorrectly advertised on TripAdvisor. Hotel pickup was a lie. Entrance fee to gorge was not Euro 2.50 but 5 in CASH. This caused such a palaver as our guide had to pay for us and then we had to pay her back after stopping off at an ATM on the way back. A voucher was received day before tour by text but it did not have exact pickup point as promised. The tour company didn't answer any of my messages during the day so I eventually called early evening, which it sounded like I'd woken him up. He said they'd replied to my messages and also emailed - they had not. He stated that pickup was 1.2km from our hotel as the bus couldn't go into old town. We wouldn't have known any of this if I hadn't called. We were not in old town but on the seafront, where our airport shuttle had dropped us off no problem. I replied that it was not acceptable but received no further messages. So in the morning we walked 20mins to his stated pickup, only to be called asking where we were because they were waiting by our hotel. All of this was so unnecessary. Imbros Gorge was absolutely worth it but the tour company needs to learn how to do their job properly and get the details right. People who book this tour are on holiday and don't need the stress!
Beautiful hike! Almost all the way in the shadow. Knowledgable and good guide. A bit long travel back to the hotel having to pick up also another group in a different town before we were on our way back.
