I foden af Alexander den Store - Makedonske Rige - 8 timer

Beskrivelse

We recently enjoyed a 3 day private tour of Thessaloniki led by Efi, and can’t recommend her highly enough. Efi also helped arranged a comfortable minibus and headsets locally for our group of 16 people. The day trip to Vergina and Pella was outstanding from start to finish. Efi guided us through the UNESCO‑listed royal tombs at Vergina where her insights into the archaeological digs and the dazzling gold treasures brought Macedonia’s ancient past vividly to life. We then visited Pella, Alexander the Great’s birthplace, where her clear, engaging commentary highlighted both the grand ruins and the everyday details of Hellenistic life. For lunch she booked us into a charming taverna where we enjoyed fresh, regional dishes. Throughout the day, Efi was always cheerful, impeccably organised, and spoke perfect English. Her deep knowledge and warm personality made the tour into a memorable, enriching experience.
Thanks a lot for your review on my private Pella and Vergina day tour. I appreciate your kind words written and I hope you'll come back to visit more places in Greece
Stunning, a true piece of history you can see intact and about in place. Easy paced tour with detailed route and easy to see everything.
Thanks a lot for your review on my private Alexander the Great tour to Pella and Vergina Royal Tombs and museums. These are two of the highlights in my area to do on a privately guided tour I always enjoy doing myself. Take care!
Great experience for people that enjoy history. My guide who was an older lady was amazing 5 stars. She talked not only about the history of Alexander The great but she talked about: geography, agriculture, architecture, geopolitics, economics of the time. Well organized super professional. One of the best experience I had.
Great to hear you enjoyed your private Alexander the Great tour! My pleasure to have guided happy visitors in my area of Northern Greece and show them the highlights around here.
If you have researched Phillip II and Macedonian history you do not need a guide. All sites have plaques with all the information and same for the museums. We went to lunch and our guide sat at our table. We ordered lunch and she spoke Greek to the server. I assumed she told him separate checks. She did not. I was going to offer to pay for her lunch however she just assumed we would pay for her. Also, she did not even Thank us for lunch. Quite rude. I suggest you book a car with driver and save the guide fee. We will do so in the future. Driver was excellent.
Dear guests, I'm so sorry to read this review and the comment on the "lunch check", but if you asked me or the waiter, you would have known that my meal is never charged anywhere by the restaurants because this is the way it works with the Greek hospitality and the guides. So there is nothing to thank you about my own lunch because you have not paid for it. We are professionals and guiding is a job, as well as explaining about the Greek dishes and talking with our guests about our country while having lunch or dinner together. Of course, you could have driven to the sites and museums by yourselves and just read the signs or use an app instead, as you say. Why bother booking a guided tour or having lunch with a local guide anywhere next time? However, it is clear enough that this is the page of a qualified professional guide in Greece, not of a driver, and the terms & conditions are described in all tours with clarity.
We had a wonderful day with Efi. Our son, who studied classical archaeology, was really excited to visit Pella and Vergina. We came away really impressed with the sites and the knowledge Efi was able to provide as complement to the museum exhibits.
Thanks a lot for your kind words Cindy, I'm happy you enjoyed nyour family private tour with me.
The tour was very good and although the weather did not help we did a tour to the ancient Pella with the encouragement of Efi and was excellent. The Museum of Pella is a small diamond and I think we should all see it The tour with an experience guide gives another weight
We were very happy to have her as our guide ! She is well informed and thorough in her presentation
Θερμά ευχαριστήρια κι ελπίζω να ξαναβρεθούμε και για άλλες ξεναγήσεις στην περιοχή μας, και στην πόλη μας!
The days with Efi were just amazing. She has accumulated so much deep knowledge about the sites we visited and as a result I just would like heartily recommending Efi as a tour guide for Thessaloniki, the archeological Cites nearby and the Meteor Monasteries. With our group of 13 Austrian Soroptimist ladies we travel every year and Thessaloniki was completely unknown to all of us but turned out to be an unbeatable amazing travel highlight. Weather was perfect and the tours with Efi were just well organised and prepared. Price of the tours and the transport is absolute matching local standards I would even say that this trip was much more economic compared with our trips to different European interesting European sites. I personally can only recommend to take EFI’s tour s. If all goes well and traveling will be easier again we want returning in May. I can send EFI only admiration from all my travel friends. All the very best looking forward to come back to this surprising city.
Thanks for visiting my city and area in this difficult time for all to travel. It helps a lot to support the local economy, like tourism, food places, hotels etc when you trust and rely on the local experts. I'm glad that you enjoyed your trip!
Efi's extensive knowledge of ancient history, customs and mythology made for a perfect day during our vacation. Everyone would enjoy visiting archaeological sites and museums in Vergina and Pella, but with Efi's guidance, we heard so much and went beyond all expectations. Looking forward to another tour with Efi!
Thank you for coming to Thessaloniki, Greece and in my area in this hard season for all travellers to go abroad and for booking me as your private guide. I'm glad you enjoyed your experience with me and will be happy to see you again!
We booked this tour months in advance. We were then contacted by this company and told in order to go we will have to pay an additional $170 Euros in cash when we got there to pay for transportation. We agreed but asked that this tour be very informative about Alexander the Great and then they canceled the tour. So we never ended up going with this company. I guess they didn’t expect to give an informative tour.
Dear kkdd361, There must be a mistake, I'm sorry. This is not a travel agency or a company offering group tours. This is a private and qualified guide's page, who conducts private tailor-made guided tours. It states clearly in all my guided tours suggested on this page that transportation costs are NOT included, because transportation by car/van/bus is a different service provided by a licensed transportation company if requested by the guests. Many of the tours in the city are walking tours. When a visitor does not pay attention to the terms of the tours written and what exactly is included and not included in the tours, I sometimes receive requests for bookings by guests who think that transportation for a full day tour is included, which is clearly stated it is not. This is the reason why every time I receive a booking for a long tour out of the city that requires transportation, I first immediately inform the guest who sent it how much transportation costs will be - with transport insurance and with a professional driver - always depending on the number of people and the type of vehicle, whether it is a limo, a taxi, a van or a minibus and for how many hours it'll be booked. I never confirm any tour of mine without informing my guests in advance about this extra cost to first get their OK about it. I have never confirmed a tour booking and then cancelled it months later, as you say, I'm sorry. Maybe that was one of the rare cases that you have booked it, and when I informed you about the extra transport cost, you cancelled it, because you decided it was too much for you to pay. This is fine, cancellation doesn't cost you anything on this portal and it can happen if one does not read the terms carefully. How could I deny to you that you'd have an "informative" tour, as you say since all my tours are informative (this is my job) and you when can read all other good reviews of my previous guests on all my tours? By the way, driving and guiding in Greece is prohibited, as well as in most of the European countries, this is the reason why certified guides of Greece guide our visitors, but we must always book a certified transportation company to do the driving job, for your own safety and your professional insurance. I hope this is now clear and I'm sorry that you have misunderstood my information for my tours. This is a very strange review of yours, I'm afraid and I 've never had this kind of review in my 31 years' career as a certified guide of Greece...
