Wat Chedi Luang, dette tempel er stedet for en enorm pagode, oprindeligt 280 fod høj, og blev delvist ødelagt af et jordskælv i 1545. På et tidspunkt husede Wat Chedi Luang det ærbødige Emerald Buddha-billede, der nu er nedfæstet i Bangkoks Wat Phra Kaew. Best Tour Yet!
This was the best tour we have had so far in Thailand. Our guide, Oo Lala, was fantastic!!! She explained everything in great detail and with historical context. I really learned a lot, and had a wonderful time doing it!

Overview of temples
Knowledgeable guide with understandable English. It was very interesting to see the different types of temples - very elaborate and the other simple in nature. The mountain road is very twisted so if you get motion sickness be sure to take Dramamine before you go.

Tour cancelled. No refund..... yet.
The tour operator contacted me via whatsapp a day before we were supposed to do the tour saying they didn't have sufficient numbers to go ahead and that they would give me a full refund. I replied saying that was fine, however after numerous requests for the refund on whatsapp I have received no further correspondence. I have sent 3 messages requesting the refund so far and have received no explanation for the delay, no acknowledgement of receiving my messages (2 blue ticks on whatsapp). I was notified 3 days ago about the tour being cancelled. What is going on I wonder?
These experiences make me question the anonymity of platforms like viator and whether they lead to better services and experiences.

Temple tour
Very educational and fun and great for everyone. They were super helpful in showing us the history and the temples in a way that everyone could enjoy. There was some independent time for exploring as well.

Amazing tour!
We had a wonderful time on this tour. Our guide was amazing. She was so knowledgeable and we learned a lot about each site. We were picked up on time. This tour made visiting three different temples very easy.

We did the private tour....

Chiang Mai - Doi Suthep, Wat Chedi Luang & Wat Pha Lat
The tour was well organised, interesting and very informative. Our guide, Jane arrived early for the meeting point and so got off to a good start. She was very knowledgable and was able to explain all the pertinent points for each wat visited. She kept the group on schedule and offered to take any photos of members of the group as required. The drive to Doi Suthep was comfortable and Jane gave us all the relevant facts of a boy undergoing the initiation ceremony of joining the monks. Doi Suthep is in a beautiful setting amongst the forest and river. Jane even arranged for us to receive a personal greeting from a monk. The trip was well worth-it and thank you to Jane for being a great guide.
