This double excursion was selected by our Costa Rican Travel Agent - Costa Rica Adventure with Amanda. The company picked us up on time from our hotel. The sloth tour occurred on our first day in La Fortuna. We saw 4 sloths including a mother and her baby as well as bats, a monkey, the “Jesus Christ lizard (cause it can walk on water) and turtles. Our guide knew a lot about the plant life and all the animals. He also had a special binoculars to help us see the sloths high in the trees. Then we went to their main office in Fortuna - and headed to the Balsa River for whitewater rafting. It is a challenging river. We were all geared up and had a blast working the river. Near the end, we had a fresh fruit picnic of pineapple and watermelon. Also saw another sloth! Wonderful people and experience!
