Overall it was a great experience. I went with 4 stars because the boat was very crowded during the whale watching portion of the day. There were 49 or 50 tourist, plus the crew. The crew was great though. We also really enjoyed the short hike to Mendenhall Glacier and waterfalls. It was beautiful and the trail was well maintained. Take a bottle of water with you! By the end of the day I thought I was going to pass out from dehydration. We weren't offered water on the boat, just snacks, and there was none for purchase at the park, only a water fountain which had such cold water it was hard to take more than a sip at a time. Overall I would recommend this tour.
Pick up was organized and right off the main dock. Shuttle driver pointed out sights along the route. Whale watching was fantastic. We saw lots of whales. Capt and staff did an excellent job.
Awesome time! Lots of whales. Very knowledgeable crew. Fun and interesting. Suggest you book this trip now!!
We went whale watching with Patrick, Mason and Captain T. We had an extraordinary time and saw many whales. At least a pod of 6 with one little show off baby! Also saw Stellar seals. It was a great experience and just what we hoped for and the weather was perfect. The glacier was a bit of a let down, no fault of the tour company. Just got there as the information center was closing so had a lot of time to kill.
Whale watching was fabulous. We saw two associations of 4 or 5 whales apiece. And some sea lions. The tour operator was excellent. Glacier and nugget falls views were spectacular. It would have been better if we had an extra 30 minutes. It was a bit rushed. The views were magnificent. Recommend it highly
The whaling/glacier combo was great! Our drivers: Josh & Israel gave helpful info on Juneau area. Guides on whaling boat: Ammon and Nick were fantastic and we saw quite a few whales. Mendenhall Glacier and Nugget Falls are must sees in this area.
We had a great whale & glacier tour! Unfortunately the weather was wet & cold, so not the best for our Whale tour - darn it. We were able to see a few whales in the distance, but being on a bigger boat we noticed the whales did get closer to the smaller boats. It was still great to see the activity that we did. We did get close to a group of seals & watched them up close, which was cool! The tour to the Glacier & Nugget falls was amazing & allowed the perfect amount of time for this portion of the tour. This was a wonderful tour, and we would definitely recommend it! The weather is out of anyone's control, so it is just the luck on the day :)
Captain Dustin, Ethan and Brock were very knowledgeable and pleasant. They told us exactly what to expect and look for. We were right in the middle of a pod of orcas and got the chance to see three humpback whales.
We traveled with family. This tour was great as they could accommodate large groups, and it was great for whale watching as well as getting close to the glacier.
Staff was excellent, from the bus drivers, to the captain, to the environmentalist. All were very friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable. They truly seemed invested in ensuring that we had an enjoyable time and that we were able to see as much wildlife and scenery as possible while also offering background information and knowledge. We saw multiple whales, bald eagles, sea lions, and of course, Mendenhall Glacier both at the visitor's center and while on the boat.
