Kedung Kayang vandfald og Selogriyo ris terrasser er begge smukke, men ofte overset af de rejsende. Navnet selv er ikke så velkendt for rejsende som Borobudur eller Prambanan. Mens udforskning af templet er en af højdepunkterne i Java, er det også meget anbefalelsesværdigt at tage et par timers kørsel for at finde disse skjulte perler. Kedungkayang og Selogriyo begge tilbyder dig landskabet og ro. Men mere end det, de tilbyder dig chancen for at opleve de mindeværdige møder med lokale mennesker og traditioner. Tag en tur gennem et stort stræk af ris terrasser og møde landmænd på din vej er alt for dig, der er i eventyrlig tur med et strejf af lokale værdier

Hvis du leder efter alternativer at besøge, når du er i Yogyakarta eller omkring Magelang, er Kedung Kayang-vandfaldet et, du ikke bør gå glip af. Dette vandfald ligger inde i nationalparken Mount Merapi. Hvad betyder det? Det betyder, at du kan nyde en flot udsigt over dette vandfald med Mount Merapi som baggrund. Efter halvanden times kørsel fra Yogyakarta ankommer vi til indgangen til Kedung Kayang-vandfaldet. Skiltet ved indgangen viser dig, at du enten kan gå op eller ned. Sagen ved dette vandfald er, at du kan nyde udsigten fra forskellige vinkler. Du kan vælge at gå op ad trappen for at se omgivelserne fra toppen af et træ med vandfaldet under dig, eller gå ned ad trappen for at nyde vandfaldet lige foran. Og hvad er bedre? Du kan gøre begge dele! -kørslen fra hotellet til Kedung Kayang vandfald ca. 1,5 timer.
Fra parkeringspladsen vil vores chauffør lede dig gennem en strækning af lokales boliger, hvor du kan se et glimt af bøndernes dagligdag. Han vil derefter tage dig til indgangsboden ved starten af stien, hvor du kan købe en billet. En kort gåtur senere vil du nå et punkt, der udvider din udsigt til risterrasserne nedenfor. Du kan selv gå ned ad risterrasserne, nyde udsigten, tage billeder, se nærmere på bøffelpløjning, hvis du er heldig, eller sludre med bønderne. De er ekstremt venlige! Den 2 km lange vandretur til templet er ikke svær. Der er skråninger hist og her, men ikke stejle. Vi foreslår, at du udstyrer dig selv med det nødvendige udstyr, da stedet er ret udsat for solen. Templet er lille, men velholdt. Du kan bruge lidt tid på at nyde landskabet, før du går ned. Du vil tage en anden rute tilbage til indgangen, men med lignende betagende udsigt over risterrasser strakt til horisonten, der skinner under solen.

We had a wonderful experience on this tour. Wayo our guide was funny and cheerful and took very good care of us. The rice fields were beautiful and we loved the waterfall. I would recommend that you bring waterproof sandals because the last part to the waterfall was a bit of a clamber over rocks and wading through the stream. But very much worth it, we highly recommend this tour and this guide.

I booked this tour to enjoy some nature outside of Yogykarta City and really enjoyed it! My guide was Salma, who was very patient and professional. He also told me a lot about Yogyakarta and Indonesian culture during the car ride. The Kedung Kayang waterfall was so beautiful, and the Selogriyo rice terraces were so lush and green. The trip was truly worth it.

If you are looking for a special experience, book here. We had such a lovely and relaxed time with our driver and tour guide Fajar from Trans Marindo Yogyakarta. He is so much fun to go with and his language skills are perfect. We first went to the hidden waterfall and continued to a local panoramic scenery near the volcanos. Additional plus was a great (real) coffee ☕️ while enjoying the view. Not a crowded place and since up high (1100m) pretty cool. Best day outside Yogyakarta ever. Thanks Fajar ❤️ you are the best. I attended this trip with my group of friends, and we had Fajar as our tour guide. He was awesome and gave us a lot of insights on the long drives and also while we were walking, answering any questions we had to his best ability. He was a great photographer at the waterfall and the fields too! Not to mention his F1 level driving skills. The experience was amazing and I could not recommend it enough. We only saw one other group of tourists at the fields so it's definitely a lot less crowded than other areas. We were lucky and the sky was clear enough to see the volcano which was awesome. A few notes for anyone considering this experience that I wish we knew is; (1) it is quite physically demanding in terms of how much walking we did when at the fields and also to get to the waterfall at the bottom, and (2) definitely bring shoes that you can wear in the water if you want to see the waterfall at the bottom because you have to cross 2 streams/rivers to get to it (we did it bare feet and were fine but if you're nervous about those things then I recommend water shoes). It was also very culturally immersive in terms of walking on the small paths through the fields instead of on a path next to it. There was also a chance to buy some locally farmed coffee at the fields so make sure to bring some cash (we didn't try any but could be good for any coffee lovers). Overall, I 100% recommend this experience to anyone interested because there were some insane views that you don't want to miss.

Marman is a great tour guide, careful and happy to help. English is good and you can discuss a variety of topics. The day was arranged by the travel agency, I traveled with another person who travelled alone, we talked a lot along the way, we were both happy to make this trip together

We had nice trekking in the padi field. We also had grey experience to the waterfall. Our driver and guide, Mr Salma is a good and knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

Great way to see the country side and get away from the crowds. We did 4 miles or 6 km of walking. Our guide Marman was excellent. He has a great eye for taking pictures, and we never looked this great. He was very informative. Highly recommend this activity and the guide Marman

Yeldhy was the driver today, and he had also been an outstanding guide as well answering many questions I had in mind. We visited the hidden water fall first with a good hike crossing two streams and then visited Selogriyo Temple and the nearby locally produced coffee shop. This was a good tour, a great opportunity to see the country side in Central Java.
