Denne tur kombinerer den altid populære Franschhoek sporvogn og også tillader et besøg i den historiske by Stellenbosch i en unik indstilling. Vi har valgt vores vinsmagning stop omhyggeligt for at muliggøre en perfekt balance mellem dem på jagt efter historisk arkitektur og Instagrammable foto søgere til de mest kritiske vin kendere i verden. Afhentning vil være fra dit hotel i Cape Town og så vil drop off. Vær venlig at medbringe, dine tomme kameraer, forskellige outfits, hvis du kan lide og stærkeste smagsløg, som du er ved at gå på en rejse af nye opdagelser og mere.

Når du er blevet hentet fra dit ophold i Cape Town. Du vil rejse på N2 motorvej gennem Cape lejligheder til den bjergrige by Stellenbosch. Mens du kører, vil din guide give en kommentar om de vigtige landemærker, som du vil køre forbi. Ved ankomsten i Stellenbosch by, vil du have mulighed for at komme af køretøjet og opdage den maleriske og hyggelige by til fods. Endemiske Cape hollandske stil bygninger flyder parallelt med de løvede gader i Stellenbosch og over 150 år gamle vand furrows gør fremskridt for byens nordøstlige blide skråning. Gamle og nye butikker handler med kunst, antikviteter, smykker og udskåret træ. Du vil måske også gerne bruge denne mulighed til at tage en kop kaffe og absorbere byens pulserende energi, før du går videre til din første vinsmagning oplevelse af dagen.
Efter den hurtige udforskning af Stellenbosch by, vil næste stop være på Lanzerac vin ejendom for din chokolade og vin smagning parring oplevelse. Lanzerac er en af de ældste vinmarker i Stellenbosch og dækker omkring 200 hektar land ved foden af Jonkershoek-bjergene. Den smukke vin ejendom er kendt blandt mange attributter, for at have de bedste eksempler på de endemiske Cape hollandske arkitektoniske bygninger i verden. Manor House, som går tilbage til 1830'erne har en provinsiel arv status og sammen med vingårde og vin kælder, skaber en typisk fransk tradition for at fusionere et landshotel og en vin ejendom. Det er i Lanzerac, at Pinotage først blev flasket. Men din oplevelse her vil ikke have noget at gøre med den eneste sydafrikanske vin, men en unik smagsprøve af 5 premium vine parret perfekt med et udvalg af håndlavede chokolade. Chokolade er beregnet til at afsløre de forskellige vinkler af vinens tekstur før og efter.
Fra Lanzerac, vil du køre op og ned i den bakkede og viklende Helvedes højder passere til Tokara. I modsætning til den historiske Lanzerac, Tokara er kendt for sin moderne look, Views, der strækker sig så langt som Table Mountain og en oliven groove, der producerer nogle af de bedste olivenolier i området. Vinsmagningen her består af 5 klassiske vine, herunder en Rose og en af de bedste Carbert Sauvignon i området, der har været tæt naturaliseret i 2 årtier siden århundredets begyndelse. Den dybe, rige jord, der består af nedbrydning af granit, udtørret sandsten, giver Tokara privilegiet til at dyrke individuelle partier, der derefter blandes til at lave top-tier vine. Tokara vin rådgiver vil dele med alle oplysninger om vinene, som du smage dem individuelt, og hvis du har tid, du måske også ønsker at prøve olivenolier eller endda en ost plade. Efter din anden vinsmagning oplevelse, vil rejsen tage os til Franschhoek by via den historiske by Pniel. Mange landmænd fra Frankrig dukkede op på Cape i 1680'erne og fik derefter jord her til at dyrke vinmarker og dermed byen blev kendt som Franschhoek, hvilket betyder franskmændenes hjørne. Omgivet af bjerge og håndlavede vinmarker på alle sider, giver Franschhoek en smuk sammenhæng mellem naturen og menneskets arbejde. Den smukt lavet Leeu ejendom bestående af kunstgallerier, hotel og restauranter efterlader en med et brændende ønske om at blive her i meget længere tid. Vi vil have en frokostpause her, og du kan også ønsker at bruge denne mulighed for at udforske butikkerne, ville denne by ikke skuffe. Ligesom i Stellenbosch, her kan man finde kunstbutikker, smykker butikker, fine læder butikker, tøj butikker eller endda fine chokolade fabrikker!
Kort efter frokostpausen og udforskningen af Franschhoek vil turen gøre fremskridt til Franschhoek-terminalerne for din anden del af vinsmagningsoplevelsen med sporvogn. Din rejseleder vil give dig dine sporvognsbilletter og forklare dig, hvordan du læser sporvognens køreplan. Det tager normalt omkring 8 minutter for sporvognen at køre mellem gårde, og du kan håbe på en gård efter eget valg blandt listen over gårde på din rute. To ville være det maksimale antal gårde, du kan besøge med sporvogn, men du kan også gøre en tredje, hvis tiden tillader det.
Dit første mulige stop med sporvogn ville være ved den første kvindelige gård i Franschhoek, Rickety bridge. Sporvognen vil sætte dig af ved Rickety Bridge-terminalerne, hvor du bliver hentet af en gårdtraktor med komfortable sæder og transporteret til vinsmagningsområdet. Her vil du være mere end velkommen til at vælge en af de tilgængelige vinsmagningsmuligheder. Du kan også fravælge vinsmagning og i stedet sidde på Paulinas restaurant, hvor du kan snuppe en snack, kaffe eller bestille et glas vin og nyde panoramaudsigten over bjergene og vinmarkerne i Franschhoek-dalen.
Franschhoek kælder er en af gårdene i vinmarkerne i Cape Town, der tilbyder den unikke vin og ost eller håndlavede belgiske chokolade par. Den belgiske chokolade er lavet langs vejen i samme by, og det samme er vinen. En traditionel vin kun smagning er også tilgængelig, hvis det er et bedre valg for dig. Franschhoek kælderen er også den nærmeste til sporvognsterminaler, og hvis du gerne vil strække dine ben efter en hel dag med flere vinsmagning, kan du faktisk gå til terminalerne for at mødes med din guide og resten af gruppen.
På vej tilbage til Cape Town, vil du have mulighed for at stoppe i et fængsel, hvor Nelson Mandela tilbragte de sidste 2 år af sine 27 år i fængsel. En livsstil bronze statue af denne store mand står lige uden for fængselsportene med hans fist klemt i luften som om at symbolisere styrke og mod. Din guide vil give dig en kort opsummering om fængselstiden, nutiden og løsladelsen af Nelson Mandela, før du fortsætter til Cape Town for aflevering på dit hotel.

I was really looking forward to this tour and it didn’t disappoint. Candy (our guide) arrived on time and was very friendly. During the tour she shared great facts about the cities and towns and shared a lot about herself and life in Cape Town. She was personable and got to know each of us and made sure we interacted with each other creating a little family of friends. She gave great suggestions and and had us laughing the entire time!! I would highly recommend this trio and Candy as your guide

Last week my sister and I had an absolutely incredible time with Peter leading us through a day of wine tasting. The wines and scenery were fantastic, but it was really Peter who made the trip what it was. When he wasn’t acting as our personal photographer, he joked around with us and was also very insightful about life in South Africa. It was my favorite day of an incredible trip, and I can only highly recommend this tour!

If you want to visit the best vineyards and hit the tram in one tour, snag this one with Kevin. He drove and entertained us with stories! I am a wine snob and bought several bottles at Duty Free because the wine is that good, especially Boschendal and Tokara. 10/10 recommend 🥰

We had such a lovely day wine tasting in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek! Peter was our guide and he did the best job. The wineries were wonderful and the scenery was gorgeous. We also loved stopping to see where Nelson Mandela spent his last years of imprisonment before making the long walk to freedom. Such a wonderful day in Cape Town!

My husband and I enjoyed our private tour, but there were a lot of mishaps and circumstances that reduced the amount of time we were able to spend at the wineries. We were picked up late after confusion about our hotel pick-up location (we changed dates and pick-up location due to flooding and high winds on our original tour date - all of this was correctly reflected on our TripAdvisor booking, so I am not sure why our driver was dispatched to the wrong hotel. Thankfully we relocated to a hotel within 5 minutes drive). There was also significant confusion about the timing of our Tram tickets (apparently the tour usually goes to Stellenbosch first, but the Tram tickets secured by the Tour Operator were for late-morning so the tour order was reversed - which our driver did not know until we were en route). There was additional confusion about which of the 2 Tram stations was open (we drove 15 minutes past the open Tram station only to have to turn around and go back). Then, after waiting 15+ minutes for the Tram, we were advised the Tram's schedule was modified due to a tree on the line from the storms. (Instead of adjusting the schedule for the available track, they were holding the Tram at the station for 15-20 minutes.) All in all, we lost at least 45 minutes to misunderstandings about the Tram. We eventually chose to eat the cost of our Tram tickets, and ride the short distances between wineries with our private driver. (I highly recommend negotiating a private tour price that skips the Tram and allows you more time at the wineries! It's best to arrive at a winery when the Tram hasn't just dropped off guests, in addition to avoiding the requirement of pacing your tastings to match the Tram's departure time!) We also lost time at our 2nd stop because our guide was not aware that due to renovations on the property the tasting room had recently been relocated to the Private Event/Wedding venue. After we trekked half way across a muddy field, we were stopped and told we were entering an active movie set and had to turn around! There was confusion about our lunch stop, where the driver had called ahead to confirm we could eat and do a tasting at the same time, only to arrive and learn tastings were not available at the winery's venue serving the driver's recommended Braii platter (which was delicious and we highly recommend!). There was also confusion about the closing time of our 4th and final winery stop. Apparently they had just begun Winter hours, and arriving 10 minutes before closing they initially declined our tasting. Our driver did convince them to quickly serve us as they were shutting down for the day. With this ongoing series of unfortunate events, our time in the wine regions was very rushed. Another tip: do not elect the option to prepay your tastings. We thought prepaying may give us special access to facilities or wines since we were on a private tour, but it did not. Our tastings were in the general tasting areas (which were all lovely!) and each offered various levels of tastings...but with prepayment only the basic was included. We ended up paying the difference at one winery to upgrade our tasting experience. We would have at another too, but our tasting was poured before we were presented with the menu identifying the tasting options. Through all of this, our driver Jossie stayed positive and did manage to squeeze in all 4 tastings and a sitdown lunch. We were lucky she had relationships at some of the locations. Jossie was a safe and informative driver, and a pleasure to spend the day with. I highly recommend the private tour option so you can enjoy the tastings and lunch at your own pace, and modify the itinerary on the fly as needed - no matter what chaos the day may throw at you! Even better, book a farm guest room or rental house and spend a few days!
