Hoteller i nærheden af Casco Viejo Sunset Walk with Santa Ana & Fish Market

Beskrivelse

My dad and I went on this tour and wow. We had gone to casco viejo that week two other times and I feel like this was the first time we really got to know the real panama. Juan was super knowledgeable and kind and answered all of our questions about the intricacies of panamanian life in casco and right outside. You will have missed something big if you don’t do casco viejo with Juan!
My tour ended up being a solo tour which was great. I got to learn a lot about the city and history and enjoyed walking to places where I would not have gone by myself.
made this experience truly memorable. His expertise extends far beyond Casco Viejo itself. He provided fascinating insights into Latin American history and how it has shaped this historic neighborhood. I can’t speak to other tours, but based on this experience, this is the one you need to book. What impressed me most was the comprehensive scope of the tour. It ventures outside Casco Viejo to show you the broader context of Panama City’s tourism boom and how the city has transformed over decades. The timing was perfect, with a stunning sunset viewing and fresh ceviche that provided the ideal ending to the experience.
Juan was an amazing guide! The entire tour was ~ 2 hours. We walked through the current barrios, fish market, and the entire Casco viejo! He even showed us the best places to go for the best value. Highly recommend! We were surprised to see that he only has 2 reviews right now, best experience ever !!
Juan is very knowledgeable and I love his attitude. Very funny. Had a great time and learned a lot..
The Overall experience was AMAZING. Hector messaged us early before our tour start time and let us know where to meet. Once the tour started we took a deep dive into the history of the country. Hector was very knowledgeable and passionate about his culture. If you're looking for a tour off the beaten path, looking to connect with the true Panama, this is the tour for you. Finally we ended at the market where we had the Ceviche, I'm a foodie so that was great also. I would do it over and over again if I got the chance. Can't say enough how much of an amazing experience this was.
Our guide, Hector, was great about accommodating our requests (the type of info my parents wanted to hear more about). Although I'd already done research about the history of the area, I learned plenty that was new to me. Those interested in booking this activity should know that it includes going outside of Casco Viejo to the neighborhoods of Santa Ana and El Chorrillo, which would be considered unsafe to walk around without a guide, though we definitely walked around safer areas in those neighborhoods full of families playing and elderly people hanging out. Also, it wasn't one of those less respectful tours where people go and kind of gawk at the working class people; we just walked through some main streets and talked about the history and social context.
Great private tour as we were the only ones signed up. We arrived in Panama in the afternoon and this was the perfect tour to fill the rest of our day to kickstart our vacation. Our guide Hector offered us a historical perspective to the real Panama that your can't get in the gentrified tourist zones.
It wasn’t what we were expecting. As first time visitors to Casco Viejo we were expecting to spend the tour time mainly in Casco Viejo and see historic sites in Casco Viejo and be shown important sites within Casco Viejo.
Thank you very much for sharing your feedback. We truly appreciate you taking the time to let us know about your experience. This tour is designed as a cultural walking journey that goes beyond Casco Viejo alone. While Casco Viejo is an important part of the experience, the focus of the tour is to provide historical and social context by first visiting El Chorrillo and Santa Ana, two neighborhoods that are deeply connected to Panama’s history, local culture, and the people who helped build the Panama Canal. In these areas, we explore street art, everyday local life, and the legacy of Afro-Caribbean communities—particularly the Jamaican workers who played a key role in the Canal’s construction. This context helps visitors better understand Panama beyond the postcard version of the old town. We also include a stop at the Fish Market to sample ceviche, as food is an essential part of local culture and daily life in Panama City. We understand that, as first-time visitors, you may have expected to spend the majority of the time exclusively inside Casco Viejo. Your feedback is valuable, and we will work on making this emphasis even clearer in the tour description so expectations are fully aligned. Thank you again for traveling with us—we hope this explanation provides better insight into the intention and structure of the tour. Warm regards, Manakin Adventures Panama
