Oplev den mest autentiske og friske kretensiske mad i landsbyerne mellem Chania og Rethymno. Vi besøger traditionelle landsbyer, hvor vi vil smage lokal ost, honning, olivenolie, røget kød, frugt, græske slik og urter • Vi vil drikke græsk kaffe lavet på den traditionelle måde i hovoli (eld, der ikke er blevet helt slukket og forbliver varm) •Du skal besøge den bedste ost fabrik på vestlige Kreta.Du vil også prøve den perfekte is, som min ven laver og den lækre yoghurt. •Vi vil have to måltider i to forskellige landsbyer.Den første taverna er på et bjerg.Den anden taverna er over søen Kournas og har en fantastisk udsigt!Begge er familieejede og bruger produkter fra landsbyen eller deres egne! • Du vil have fornøjelsen af at være vidne til den kretensiske gæstfrihed selv Dette er ikke kun en madsmagningsoplevelse, men også en fantastisk mulighed for at opdage de traditionelle landsbyer på det kretæiske landskab. Oplevelsen kan også finde sted om morgenen mellem 9.00 - 14.30

Besøg et traditionelt kaffehus, omgivet af smukke træer, vandløb og få mulighed for at nyde græsk kaffe lavet på den traditionelle måde (langsomt tilberedt i varmt sand), som giver en forbedret smag til kaffen.
Nyd traditionel is fra fåremælk, som kun kan findes i Chania. Få mulighed for at smage den unikke smag af johannesbrød, som ikke findes andre steder i verden. Prøv den kretensiske ost "graviera", som den traditionelle ret "saganaki" er lavet af. Ostebutiksejeren vil tilbyde dig den traditionelle kretensiske drik "raki", som er op til dig at prøve, da den er ret stærk.
Besøg i en gammel kirke, mindst 500 år gammel med en kæmpe historie og smukt interiør og eksteriør. Det har også en smuk have med forskellige blomster, træer og urter. Træer som abrikostræ, figentræ, banantræ, johannesbrødtræ, valnøddetræ, kvædetræ osv.

Vi stopper ved en moderne olivenoliemølle, og producenten og ven, Antonis, vil guide os gennem stedet og forklare os processen med olivenoliefremstilling. Du vil have mulighed for at stille ham alle de spørgsmål, du måtte have. Derefter vil du prøve jomfruolivenolie, oliven, og du kan købe alle souvenirs eller traditionelle produkter som olie, oliven, håndlavede gryder osv., der tilbydes på den smukke udstilling der er.

Du vil få mulighed for at smage traditionelle kretensiske retter som "tsigariasto arni" (lam kogt med olie og vin) "anitchristo arni" (lam langsomt kogt i ild) "ntolmadakia" (drueblade fyldt med ris) "kolokithoanthous" (zucchini blomster) fyldt med ris) "imam baildi" (aubergine kogt med hvidløgsløg, frisk tomatsauce, flødeost og olivenolie) og forskellige andre retter. Du vil også have mulighed for at smage 4 lokale vine.
2. måltid, helt andre retter, såsom kylling tilberedt med druesaft, svinekød med tomatsauce og peberfrugt, røget svinekød med oregano og salvie, champignon marineret med øl og diverse andre.

Highly recommend this tour. From pick up to drop off, the tour was amazing. The van was clean, comfortable, and air conditioned. The history and stories shared by our guide along the way were educational and fun. The lake and 1st taverna were amazing! The monestary/old olive oil press was beautiful. The stop at the olive oil press was informative and olive oil delicious. The coffee stop in the next town along a small creek was picturesque with delicious coffee. And the final taverna was delicious. Perfect way to start our experience in Crete. Highly recommend this tour and our guide.
We had a lovely time exploring villages and eating delicious food with Yannis! He conveniently picked us up at our hotel and drove around the beautiful Cretan countryside, making stops at local gems that we wouldn’t have found on our own. When we found out that our plans for the next day fell through, he graciously offered us a private tour to the south coast. We had such a nice day with Yannis and his wife. We felt very welcomed and like we were part of their family. This is a must do when visiting Crete!
This is the best excursion that we took on our 20 day Mediterranean Cruise. Yannis was an incredible host and delivered a tour that exceeded expectations. You will have more good food than you can imagine in scenic locations. Don’t hesitate to take this tour.
Yannis was wonderful and so was the food and the exploration! We ate well and learned a lot. It was just my husband and I on the tour and Yannis made it very comfortable and enjoyable. This experience is definitely not your standard walking food tour where you try one thing per location. Be prepared to eat A LOT over the two big stops at the end. Also, we're not coffee drinkers, but still really enjoyed the coffee and pastry stop at the beginning. Our favorite stop was probably the olive oil factory - it was a small family owned business that was the only one of its kind in the area. We expected a really touristy curated experience that was more of a sales pitch and this was not that at all (we still bought some tasty olive oil though!). Finally, we saw a lot of the island that we normally wouldn't have gotten to see and that was lovely. This was worth the price for us, for sure.
The tour with Yannis was a fantastic trip through several villages where you got lots of information about the history of the place, good local food and drinks. A lovely trip with good tastes!
Our guide was fabulous... very friendly and knowledgeable. It was a highlight of our time in Chania. Incredible food and lots of wine and beer. Multiple stops at beautiful villages and lake. A must do experience!
This a great experience with a local guide who is very knowledgeable and takes you to picturesque places for delicious food. Make sure you are hungry as there is plenty of food on offer. It is also great way to visit the countryside of Crete.
Yannis was excellent he had lots of facts and informationto share. This was such a unique experience traveling to villages we would have otherwise never visited. We tried new and foods and enjoyed a tour of the olive oil factories. The lake we visited was absolutely beautiful!
We did two tours with Yannis - the gastronomy tour and the Balos day. Both were incredible. From start to finish, Yannis and his wife made sure we were happy and that all of our needs were met. We got to see some of the real Crete, saw some stunning views and ate plenty of delicious food. Yannis also gave us lots of advice and tips for our remaining days of the holiday and took some brilliant photos of us so that we can share our memories.
