Gamle Slot i Celje

Ingen steder i Slovenien er der så mange (rester af) slotte og herregårde, som der er i Savinja-flodbassinet. Årsagerne til dette kan findes i flere fakta. For det første er det vigtigt at understrege, at det var i midten af Savinja i midten af 1140, at der blev opnået en masse ejendomme fra Kärnten Krško-biskopper og sidst, men ikke mindst, at mange adelige familier bosatte sig i dette område. Blandt dem var de vigtigste de mægtige tæller og fyrster af Celje.

Slottene er en afspejling af en æra, men folkene i forskellige perioder accepterede og opfattede dem ganske anderledes, ligesom livet er ved at få nye former hele tiden. Slotte og herregårde har med deres ekstraordinære fortid og nutid altid plaget menneskelig fantasi. Forskellige historier sner sig om slottene, først og fremmest om deres indbyggere, som senere blev ændret af folket og blevet fortalt til deres efterkommere til i dag. Og på grund af alle de historier og legender om slotte og deres indbyggere, der blev holdt af folkedistraditionen, kan vi stadig (magisk) genoplive fortiden til de mest slotte ruiner, der stadig dristigt og stolt står på kløfterne og minder os om deres tidligere herlighed. Således blev der fortalt mange historier og legender om det Gamle Slot Celje, Nedre Slot, Tællerne og Fyrstens Celje og Folk fra Teharje. A very beautiful day trip with your family, small kids or big it doesn't matter. Especially a great experience in the old print factory.

Well preserved medieval castle. Very interesting visit and spectacular views from the viewpoint and the tower. You can see all of Celje and its surroundings. It is worth the visit and the 7 euros it costs to enter.
Beautifully preserved castle on top of a mountain. Very nice views. On some days there are activities in the castle, but this was not during our visit.
It’s a nice option after the hike but you can also go by car, of course. The castle is well maintained and organised. The staff at the reception is kind and attentive. Different places and rooms with great views from the town of Celje. Some information about the history of the village and a nice cafeteria for an espresso.
Beautiful old castle with a lot of history. It used to belong to a powerful house of Grofje Celjski and it shows. It is placed above old city center of Celje which offers scenic views of Celje and its sourroundings. A must visit if you are around!
Was visiting this castle with my Erasmus programme. We had a lovely visit and guide was very good at explaining and answering the questions. However, tour was shorter than I expected.
Visited the Castle on a gorgeous sunny day and it was just wonderful You get a great feeling of medieval times and the walk ways between some of the buildings make you feel like you are on the set of a Game of Thrones episode Fabulous views from the top of the tower and really good information about the castle Nice little cafe at the entrance which is nice at the end, especially if the the weather was hot, like on our visit Well worth the €15 for a family of 4 !
Nice and beautiful castle with a cozy bar with small playground on. Beautiful view of the city. Not a super long visit, but for what you pay there definitely worth stopping.
