Denne tur er den perfekte forlængelse af vores Classic City Tour og omfatter de sydlige dele af "Old Town", som ikke besøges på klassiske ture, og slottet. Det er en dejlig blanding af historie, legende og middelaldertradition. Som sædvanligt mødes vi på Preseren-pladsen, hvorfra vi går direkte til rådhusets indre gårdhave for at høre fascinerende historier om de forgangne dage og klovnerne, der ledede showet. Vi fortsætter derefter ned ad Old Town Road, passerer forskellige punkter af interesse på vejen, før vi ankommer til Hercules Fountain i Old Town Square. Derfra går vi op på Ljubljana's ældste vej (16th century) og klatre op til slottet til fods (enkelt 12 minutters gang, ingen mulighed for kabelbane fra denne side af bakken), med andre interessante punkter og udsigtspunkter på vejen. Vi afslutter i slottet, hvor vi besøger den indre gårdhave, forskellige haller, dungeons, kapellet og væggene for den bedste udsigt over byen. Det er en dejlig tur fyldt med fascinerende indhold. The tour of the old town and the castle was a very special experience. Our guide Domen presented the history of the Middle Ages in a very professional, interesting, and also humorous way, so the whole tour took place in a really pleasant atmosphere. At the same time, I was wondering why there was not even a short mention of the churches we had the opportunity to see, as they represent an important part of the city’s history and identity. Apart from that, it was a lovely experience and a very enjoyable tour. Best regards, Alenka
Hi Thanks for the kind review. The churches were not mentioned because 1) We only have 2 hours and 2) We deal with the churches in our Classic Free Tour. The tour you took is usually taken as Part 2 of the Classic Tour. In any case, glad you enjoyed and welcome back anytime for the other tour
Lucy our tour guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable. Even in the pouring rain no one left the tour. I would recommend this tour if you visit Ljubljana.

A absolute must do in Ljubljana. Voyka was so enthusiastic to share stories from the medieval times which gave a good insight to the story. Loved the hike up to the castle.

I happened to find out about the Ljublijana Free Walking Tour from the Ljublijana Tourist Office and registered on the Ljublijana Free Tour website. I attended the Old Town and Castle Group Tour on Friday 5th September solo for the afternoon session, which was hosted by a very dynamic, friendly and knowledgeable tour guide called Lucy. The group itself was approximately 12 - 15 people, which was just the right size. Everyone met outside the Pink church in the main central square. Lucy paced the tour well, stopping at various places of interest, explaining the historical significance of buildings and statues, in a fun way involving the tourists. The highlight of the tour was walking up to the castle and appreciating the views of the castle. I was very impressed with how much preparation and energy Lucy brought to the tour she kindly arranged, considering it was free of charge! Of course I paid a donation to her at the end of the tour, for the entertaining tour she organised, as did many of the other tourists. I definitely recommend attending the Ljubljana free tours. which is a fun way to interactively explore the city with other tourists and the tour guide, whether a tourist attends solo or with family friends. 10/10 !
Thanks so much for such a details review. Lucy is indeed a great guide, as is our entire team ... quite different from the rest. Usually, guests do the Old Town & castle tour as PART II of our Classic Tour which covers all the classic sights in town . Hopefully you did not miss that one :)
