This excursion could be so great but I think we got an off day with the tour guide. He rushed us quite a bit through the actual experiences. The eco lodge at bayano is gorgeous with lots of places to sit and relax and enjoy the quiet atmosphere. The caves it self are cool but because it’s the rainy season the water is too high to go very far in and we didn’t see any of the cool frogs because of the water level. The kayaking is like a 10 minute paddle. It’s a beautiful area and we could have enjoyed the kayaking a bit more. It just felt very rushed when it had potential to be a real trip highlight.

We are glad, however, that you highlighted the beauty and tranquility of the Bayano eco-lodge, and that you found the caves to be "cool" despite the limitations. Regarding the caves and the kayaking, you are correct: during the rainy season, the water level in the lake and inside the caves is significantly higher. This affects the distance we can safely cover (especially limiting the sighting of certain species like the frogs) and the duration of the kayaking paddle. While this is a factor beyond our control, we understand how it impacted your experience. We greatly value your perspective, as it helps us improve. We hope that despite these issues, you still hold good memories of the beautiful setting.
One of the most complete experiences close to the flora and fauna of Panama, the kayak ride along the Tigre River is undoubtedly the best.

very good excursion, very nice experience along the tiger river, and visiting the caves, something very impressive for me because it was my first time in a place like this, and with contact with the bats

I wish I could rate this ZERO stars. This was by far the most horrible experience I’ve had using Viator. Not only does this tour NOT include everything in the description it is also dangerous. There were not enough safety gear provided for our group of 4 people. Forcing us to navigate a pitch black cave with no helmet or head lamp. We spent 30 minutes lost, trying to find where to go since two people that picked us up had never been there before and apparently are not a part of this tour agency. The “tour guide” provided was not an actual tour guide. She was a friend of the company who was more interested in sight seeing and taking selfies than actually providing any actual guidance within the tour. They didn’t talk with us throughout the drive, provided zero communication regarding what to expect and no knowledge was shared of the area (as a tour guide would normally do). We were also unable to kayak along the Rio Tigre as described and admission for the river is supposed to be included in this tour. We did see the river, however not on kayaks. The food was also not as described. There wasn’t coconut rice. What was given was made in a dirt hut without running water. We were unsure how the food was prepared. There was no sink or a place to wash their hands, so we were worried to eat it. We also had to pay extra if we were thirsty and wanted a bottled water. To make the experience even worse we were dropped off almost 2 hours later than promised. This was our last day in Panamá, it’s a shame we spent it this way. I hope this listing and company get removed from Viator all-together. Their tour is falsely advertised and dangerous. Makes me question the entire Viator vetting process.
I am very sorry that you had a bad experience with this tour. I know you were hoping to enjoy a day of adventure and nature, but it seems that your expectations were not met. I appreciate your honest and constructive feedback, as it helps me improve my service and prevent other customers from being disappointed. I am investigating what happened with the security team since they indicate that they provided all the equipment, there are even many photos of you on the boat and with the equipment that is used for all visitors, other than the kayak and the food, and I will take the necessary steps to correct these problems.
