Velkommen til "Escorial of Austria"! Vi vil udforske denne monumentale 900 år gamle kloster, som også er Østrigs ældste vingård. Gå gennem de betagende Imperial Apartments, beundre den spektakulære klosterkirke og opdag de legendariske vinkælder på flere niveauer. Denne arvrige kloster fortsætter med at huse disse uvurderlige skatte selv i dag. En af de bemærkelsesværdige artefakter, vi får mulighed for at se, er en hertugehat fra det 14. århundrede, et stykke historie, der giver et fascinerende glimt ind i fortiden.
Vi rejser dybere ind i de mystiske, frodige landskaber i Wienskogen. Før du udforsker vores næste historiske site, er det tid til at behandle dine smagsløg! Vi vil stoppe ved en traditionel kloster tavern (Klostergasthof) eller en hyggelig lokal vin tavern. Nyd autentiske østrigske retter og nyd en smag af fremragende lokale vine. Takket være din private chauffør, kan du nyde og slappe af, mens du tager i skovudsigt uden bekymringer!
Efter en afslappende og lækker frokost træder vi ind i verdens ældste kontinuerligt besatte cisterciensk kloster. Oplev den dybe åndelige ro i dette sted, mens vi går gennem sine smukt bevarede romanske og gotiske klostre, beundrer middelalderlig arkitektur langt væk fra byens støj.
Vores sidste højdepunkt er den elegante Biedermeier by Baden, en berømt kejserlig spa resort og en UNESCO World Heritage Site. Vandre gennem de maleriske gågade, se hvor Beethoven komponerede dele af sin 9. symfoni, og beundre den fantastiske Casino bygning og Kurpark.
Efter en smuk dag fyldt med historie, natur og vin, sidder tilbage og slappe af. Din chauffør vil sikkert navigere vejene tilbage til Wien og droppe dig lige ved din hoteldør.

This was one of three tours that my 15-year-old son and I took with Cozy Travel while we stayed in Vienna. I scheduled the tours about six months in advance and was in constant contact with Jenny before the tours. Jenny happily answered any questions (which were a lot-LOL) I had over the six months and responded in perfect English. While her husband, Vladimer safely drove us to each location in their comfortable car, Jenny would provide background on the areas that we drove by (and would let us rest when needed!). Jenny also provided her vast expertise during the tours at the actual locations. My son and I felt safe with Jenny and Vlad, in addition to enjoying their expertise and companionship during the tours. First was a short drive to Klosterneuberg Monastery. Inside the church is beautiful with elaborate designs. The items in the treasury are fascinating, and Jenny was able to provide the history on everything we saw. Next, we went to the Heiligenkreuz Abbey. This church is also beautifully designed. The inner halls of the monastery courtyard are peaceful with stunning architecture. I actually had one of the best meals while in Austria at the restaurant located on the grounds. Finally, we went to the charming town of Baden. This is a peaceful town with gorgeous views atop the hill and in the town center. We went to a lovely heuriger (wine tavern) and sampled the most delicious Viennese wines. I would highly recommend this tour for a peaceful, relaxing escape from Vienna for the day.
