The journey to the Valley was very comfortable in the air conditioned car and Joao ensured we were all kept entertained with his excellent knowledge of the Douro Valley region. Upon arrival at the first winery we were greeted with a lovely reception and given the opportunity to tour the winery before trying the delicious wines. The boat tour was another highlight, with a light local refreshment on board and lots of photo opportunities. The traditional Portuguese lunch was delicious and sampling the vintage port was the perfect ending to a wonderful trip. A special shout out to Joao, who was a fabulous tour guide and made the trip for us.
This was a most excellent day, Joao was a great host, super knowledgeable and interesting, and nothing was too much trouble. We had some great stops and were warmly welcomed at each one. Booking was easy and we were kept very well informed ahead of the day itself. Would highly recommend this group and will certainly use them again on my next visit to lovely Porto.
Joao was so knowledgeable, and a very safe driver on the mountain roads! Every detail was taken care of, and the food and wines and tours were excellent!

I enjoyed this tour and especially the lunch which was at an authentic home way up in the hills. That was the highlight for me that made it all worthwhile. The people there were delightful and kind and the food was an authentic experience you won't forget - with yet more beautiful Portuguese wine and port. It's a long mini-bus ride however and I found the guide, while nice, a little over the top... although most people loved the extra schtick. You stop at a vineyard and also a couple of villages, which were also pleasant and the port vineyard has stunning views of that amazing valley. Next time I think will do the cruise however and maybe stay overnight, but as mentioned, the lunch was something I will treasure forever. Such wonderful people--thank you!
Hi Colin, Thank you for the time writting the review, however you have posted it on the wrong business. First of all, we didn't have any guest with your name on that day. Also, from the pictures, we can tell that you visited a winery with whom we don't have any kind of partnership. We don't go to Quinta de São Luiz, by Kopke. We know that cellar, their logo is on the wooden barrels, but we never took our guests there ever. Lastly, our cruise is private and not optional. All our guests go on board. Would you be so kind and remove the review (which is not so good for our small family business) and publish it on the right profile of the comapny you travelled with? Thank you. João was a great host, and the whole day was great.
Joao was an excellent guide - he paid attention to every detail, was knowledgeable and passionate about both wine and Portugal. A very safe driver on the narrow country roads as well! The food, wine, and tour information was all wonderful. We also really enjoyed the gorgeous boat ride and tour with (a different) Joao!
Absolutely amazing day. Full of experiences that we’ll remember a life time. Culminating with an INCREDIBLE lunch. If you have the time to do this tour, we HIGHLY recommend it!
We had a wonderful tour with Jean, he was incredibly informative about all things in the Douro valley and facilitated the best day experience for us! We had a private tour visiting multiple vineyards, a river cruise, no crowds, a lovely traditional Portuguese meal and AC transport!!! Which was well needed in the heat. Amazing 10/10 would recommend x
