Vores tur starter fra Yogyakarta til Dieng Plateau for at se den gyldne solopgang fra Sikunir. Den tågede beliggenhed, svovlholdige kilder, gamle templer og farvede søer gør dette virkelig til et sted med naturligt vidundere og kulturel betydning. Vi besøger Arjuna-templet, små hinduistiske templer, der dateres tilbage til det syvende århundrede. vi har 10 templer nu i stedet for 400 templer (History of java: Raffles's book 1817) Mennesker har færdighedsskabte templer, vi kalder (Sipi). Før "Sipi" laver et tempel til offentligheden, skal Sipi skabe et lille tempel i dette område og vise det til lederen af Sipi. Det er mange templer i dette område for længe siden.

Afhentning fra dit hotel i Yogyakarta ved midnat, turen til Dieng Plateau vil tage omkring 3 timer i bil. Vandreturen til Dieng Plateau-udsigtspunktet for solopgang på toppen af Sikunir Hill tager 20-30 minutter fra foden af stien, der fører dig til toppen. På en klar dag kan du se op til 8 vulkaner fra toppen af denne bakke og solopgang gå udenfor bagfra 8 vulkaner, smukt øjeblik i den tid. Bemærk: Samlet rejsetid er cirka 6 timer, dette er den estimerede tid for transport til alle lokationer til/fra.
Fra toppen af Sikunir Hill vil du gå til Telaga Warna-søen via Batu Pandang Hill efter Dieng Plateau-solopgangen. Telaga Warna-søen, eller 'Colourful Lake', indeholder vand, der kan ændre sig i fluktuerende farver. Til tider kan det være grønt, lilla, gult eller endda tage regnbuens farver! Dette fænomen opstår, når solen rammer vandet på grund af dets høje svovlindhold.
Besøg Sikidang Crater, som er et åbent svovlkrater med surt, boblende mudder og brølende damp. Det er beliggende i et ujævn og støvet landskab, der vil få dig til at føle, at du ankom på månen. Du vil se en lokal person koge æg i krateret og tage svovl.
Arjuna Temple Complex, som huser ti små hindutempler, der kan dateres tilbage til det syvende århundrede.

The itinerary was comprehensive and the views were great. Our guide, Deny, was knowledgeable and shared a lot about the stories / background of the places we visited. He also paid a lot of attention to our safety when climbing up and down Sikunir Hill for the sunrise views. While the drive was long, the views and experience made up for it (kudos to our driver, Bayu, for making the drive smooth and enjoyable despite the traffic!). No regrets booking this tour and highly recommend anyone visiting Yogyakarta to try this once!

Yuni was our local guide. He was timely and friendly. Besides the paid portion of the tour, he showed us the local areas as well.

The waking up early and the long drive is worth the view. This was our third day with the same tour operator and each tour was of the same great level. In this activity, our tour guide was Didik who was beyond helpful. We packed a light jacket and he went out of his way to try and find us a shop to get a ticker one. Didik was not only insightful throughout the whole activity but took us some great photos! He’s also so warm and welcoming, made us feel comfortable throughout. We cannot thank him enough! This activity is a must when you’re in Yogyakarta. My only advice is to wear winter clothes and take a thick jacket since the weather until sunrise is quite cold.

We had a blast with on this excursion! Sigit (our driver) made our experience very comfortable. Although we had to wake up very early in the morning, Sigit’s energy truly kept us going! We were lucky to have a clear day and viewed all 8 volcanoes from the top of Dieng. The lake was very beautiful and the hot springs were a really cool experience. Sigit gave us some great recommendations of local restaurants and things to do around Yogya. He was extremely accommodating and was very helpful to us as his English is great and it was easy to communicate. Great time overall 10/10

Visited 33 years ago when the site was just temples in an open field.Driver Danni helped locate local musician who was playing with a traditional group there that time so I was able to give him his photo with the group . Also photos of the site as it once was. Now it is a major tourist site but is well worth it if you are interested in Indonesian history.

One of the greatest sunrise I have done. Check your weather and make some offerings at shrine for that (pun intended). Driver, Sigit, was punctual, fun and great travel-partner overall if you are solo traveler. The hike to the top of the hill is not-so-much hard, but bring comfy shoes and OUTER (It is COLD, and you need to wait an hour or so to see the rise). Anyway, I would recommend to anyone who love sunrise and a bit of hike. Other visits are also well-designed and give you some more photo-ops.

We had a perfect excursion to Dieng Plateau, which was ca.3 hours drive from our hotel. The sunrise was beautiful, but dress properly, it is quite chilli up there. We had an excellent guide, Atok, who gave answer to all of our questions, and told many interesting things about the country, the sights, about traditions etc. It was really interesting. He not only drove us to the originally planned places, but he bought local fruit, snake fruit for us, and we also visited a Kopi Luwak coffee shop. It was a great experience with him, he did everything, that we enjoy our journey. Thank you!
