The lady who was supposed to be guiding us arrived too late today, explained nothing, and stared consistently at her phone. The "culinary world trip" to Frankfurt's insider hotspots proclaimed on the website when buying tickets led us to the city-famous burger restaurant What's Beef and everyone got a quarter of burgers and lots of French fries. 2. Stop was the fast-food pizza restaurant Super Bros. The last stop was a foodcourt hall at the Galluswarte, which smells of old fat, where a Thai bowl was served. So burgers, pizza, dirt for 54 euros. We did not tip due to the lack of participation of the guide in the event. Never again!
This was terrible. I will not recommended at all. Meeting point disappointed. I initially booked for a non vegan non vegetarian tour. They canceled me and offered me this vegan and vegetarian tour. I accepted and was excited! I was lost the whole time bc the tour person keeps forgetting I don’t speak German. She took us to an Indian place, pizza place and desert at an indoor food court. We were around the city taking bus, trains with multiple transfers. The worse experience ever happened to me. Please, improve this experience. Awful experience
Big disappointment. Meet 14h walk 5 minutes. Waiting for the 1. Food: First hour. There were a total of 4 burgers for 12 guests! Highlights of restaurants should be burgers, Italians and Asians, that was nothing special. No explanation from the guide as to what the extraordinary curse should be at the restaurants. Along the way, Gste were lost without being noticed by the Führer.
We attended a food tasting tour in Frankfurt, priced at €60 per person, and unfortunately, it fell far short of expectations. The tour began at 13:45 at Merianplatz. Our first stop was a Mexican restaurant where drinks were included. However, before the food was served, it was held back for a lengthy photo session, leaving us with cold dishes. The offerings—mostly tortillas and nachos—were uninspired, and some dishes never reached our end of the table. The guide, seated comfortably, seemed more focused on her own plate than on ensuring fair portions for guests. The second venue, a Vietnamese restaurant near Willy-Brandt-Platz, was reached after a detour to view tall buildings. By the time we arrived at 16:00, another photo session delayed service, and portions were again minimal. By this time we were hungry and tempers frayed. Finally, dessert was served at a location near Galluswarte that felt more like a teenage hangout down a dark alley than a curated culinary stop. Overall, the tour was poorly organized, with long gaps, cold food, and inadequate servings. The guide prioritized photography and her own experience over guest experience. I would not recommend this tour.
Our guide was amazing. Very friendly, knew the city and history and she was fun to talk with. We were disappointed to be the only English speakers in the trip. Our guide was good to speak in English and German so we all had the appropriate information, but we missed a lot of the fun conversation. Also, we expected to experience more Frankfurt specific food, not hamburgers and pizza. We left the tour full of good food, just not what we were expecting from the tour description..
We went to 3 amazing restaurants. Maria was superb. She guided us and provided more than was expected. Recommend +++
Your guide went above and beyond to explain each unique food stop’s quirks and the history in the Frankfurt history in the area.
We gave a friend the vegan food tour for her birthday and were unfortunately very disappointed with the experience. It started with a guide being sick and we did our tour together with the non-vegan group. Which is of course not a problem in itself but you could have expected the restaurants to be adapted accordingly. We started with Pizza, a restaurant that everyone who lives in Frankfurt knows. Yes, the pizza is good but it is not a new special experience. Second, we went to a BURGER restaurant that has been around for over 15 years and had exactly 3 vegan dishes. Going to a burger shop on a vegan tour is quite cheeky, and apart from that, burgers simply have nothing to do with sharing plate. Much too much has been ordered for this. A huge milkshake was ordered to the show that no one touched because everyone got their one small one. This is absolute FOODWASTE and not justifiable. The only shop that met the concept and where the food was great and the owners were just super friendly was Modern Masala. When I do a food tour like this, whether vegan or not, I want to go to special restaurants and not eat pizza or burgers. 2 stars is only because our guide was nice.
I would like to start by saying that everyone I dealt with regarding this tour was very nice, including our guide. However, in truth, this is not a good experience. The tour was supposed to leave from the old town at 1pm and on the morning of the tour left at 12.45 from.a location several metro stops away. I was finishing an earlier tour and was therefore late. Most food tours of cities feature local food - after all the participants are usually tourists trying to soak up the local experiences and culture. The food on this tour was pizza, Turkish food and Austrian. At the second (Turkish) location there was no table available and we stood around for about 20 minutes. At the end of the tour we were left to our own devices at the other end of the city from where we started. I want to stress that the issue here was not our tourguide but the tour itself, how it is laid out, the choices of restaurants and it's general organisation.
Truly a disappointing tour. No German food or culture. Highly disorganized, including a last minute change in meeting point a good distance away at the start time.
