Vores kulinariske kulturelle tur vil introducere dig til smagen af lokale traditioner i Saint-Martin. Du vil blive guidet gennem Marigots gader af din veninde, Laurina. Hun vil introducere dig til nøje udvalgte steder, såsom markedet og traditionelle restauranter, hvor du kan smage en række lækre lokale retter. Ud over smagningerne vil vores gåtur give dig mulighed for at fordybe dig i Marigots historie og kultur gennem fascinerende anekdoter om retternes oprindelse, de kulinariske traditioner og indflydelsen fra de forskellige kulturer i vores lokale køkken. Du vil også have mulighed for at møde lokale producenter, fiskere og restauratører, som vil dele deres viden og passion med dig. Vi starter turen med en traditionel St. Martin-morgenmad! Mens vi smager, vil vi fortælle dig alt om historien bag de enkelte kulturelle ingredienser. Hvorfor spiser vi johnny kager? Hvor kommer det fra? Hvorfor spiser vi saltfisk til morgenmad i Saint-Martin? Hvad er bush tea? Lær mere om Hodge-familien, der også har skabt en sådan institution for samfundet gennem årene.
Træd ind på det pulserende og meget kendte Marigots marked! Fordyb dig i de farverige seværdigheder, lyde og smagsoplevelser på dette travle marked, hvor bæredygtighed og støtte til lokalsamfund er i centrum. Oplev en række friske råvarer, håndlavede varer og kulturskatte, alt sammen hentet fra nærliggende håndværkere, bønder og fiskere. Vores kyndige guider vil lede dig gennem denne sanselige glæde og dele historier med lokalbefolkningen og indsigt.
Caribisk og for det meste Saint-Martins mad betyder krydderier! Vores lokalkendte Marianne aka "Spice Lady" vil forklare dig alle fordelene ved hvert krydderi! Så fokuserer vi på St. Martin-snacks! Carl's & Son er et lokalt kendt mærke, der sælger lokale snacks som "patéer". (det smager vi selvfølgelig!)
Guavaberry er DEN frugt, som Saint-Martiners er stolte af! En af de bedste måder at lære om det på er direkte fra vores lokale producenter såsom Guavaberry Colombier Tradition! Frugten er faktisk truet med at forsvinde om et par år, og vi vil fortælle dig præcis hvorfor! Kom og lær om historien om denne frugt, mærket og enhver fornøjelse skabt af denne frugt som rhum, marmelade og... peber!

My friends and I really enjoyed this food tour and the knowledge of our guide about the food and the culture of the island. I highly recommend booking with them if you’re looking to have a great time with friends or family!

Would have liked to have known that our guide was sick and maybe someone else have done the tour. A day later my husband became ill.

This is a great cultural food experience. You eat what the locals eat. It's alot of food, not just snacks like some reviewers said. All the food was great. Lolita was an awesome tour guide.
