Vores centrale mødested og afhentningspunkt! En smuk bypark midt i Downtown Portland.
Vi tager af sted fra centrum af Portland og kører østpå langs Columbia River til Troutdale, kendt som Gateway to the Gorge! Vi slutter os til den smukke Historic Columbia River Highway, den første planlagte naturskønne vejbane i USA.
Typisk er vores første stop for dagen Crown Point Vista House. Denne berømte overse sidder 733 fod over Columbia River, oven på resterne af et lavastrømme, der fejede gennem kløften omkring 14-17 millioner år siden! Her finder vi fantastiske 180 graders udsigt over Columbia River Gorge og udforske Vista House. Et intrikat designet observatorium og museum er Vista House noteret på National Register of Historic Places.
Fra Vista House vil vi køre dybere ind i Columbia River National Scenic Area. Vores første vandfald for dagen er den dramatiske Latourell Falls, der falder 249 meter over en massiv mur af columnar basalt. Afhængigt af sæsonen, vil en kort ¼ mile trail vandring blive ført for at få et nærmere billede af faldet.
Det næste vandfald, vi vil besøge, er de berømte Multnomah Falls. Blomstrende 620 fod i to store trin, Multnomah Falls er det højeste vandfald i Oregon og næsthøjeste i nationen! Her kan vi udforske Multnomah Falls Historic Lodge (en Cascadian-stil sten og tømmerhytte indbygget i 1925) samt de smukke Multnomah Falls selv. Den let tilgængelige synsplatform giver en fuld visning af Benson Bridge og cascading falls ud over det.
Vi vil bruge omkring 10 minutter på at nyde denne oversete perle lige ud for den historiske motorvej!
Vi slutter vores tur tilbage på Director Park, vores centrale drop off placering i hjertet af Downtown Portland.

This tour was fantastic! Our tour guide, Eric, was incredibly knowledgeable, not only about the waterfalls, but also about Portland and Oregon as a whole. He shared fascinating history, pointed out notable landmarks and buildings, and made the drive just as enjoyable as the stops themselves. He also gave us excellent recommendations for local restaurants, live music, and shopping. I left feeling like I got so much more than a waterfall tour. I would highly recommend this experience, especially if you have Eric as your guide!

If you only have a half day in Portland, this is a fantastic way to get out of the city and see the natural beauty of the Columbia River Gorge. Aaron was our guide and was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area traveled.
