Being alone with the guide, he knew how to adapt the day to our preferences: exit the visit of shops and welcome the visit of a small mountain park where we could see a sloth and little monkeys.
Jorge is a great guide. Very knowledgeable and accommodating and a very good sense of humor. He has a passion for the history of the old city of Panama as well as the canal and it shows! We had a wonderful day. Thank you, Jorge!
Our Tour Guide Jose Juan was VERY knowledgeable and explained many historical details of areas we visited. Definitely recommended.
We did a full day with Juan. He has a great vehicle and had a wealth of information on all things Panama. We had some unusual requests of things to see and he had great info on all of them. We really enjoyed our time.
Booked a personalized tour with the sites that interested me most through Manakin Adventures, and am so glad I did. Tour guide Juan Jose took me to see the canal highlights at Miraflores and beyond, and gave me a birding tour walking up the Ancon Hill, all along telling me about life in Panama. It was exactly what I wanted. Manakin being a small, local business is not always able to accommodate special requests, but I recommend you do.
Juan was very adaptable with the different things I wanted to see and experience. It went beyond just walking through the city. I was able to get up close and personal with locals, which was the biggest experience I wanted. I was able to eat at a place I had read about. The ruins and old Panama cities were a highlight for me! it was interesting to learn the history of the country, and see the contrast of the old and the new cities. This is one of my favorite days. Juan was an excellent guide for our single day tour of Panama City. My mother and I were interested in a trip that was slightly different than what is typically advertised--we were interested in seeing the Panama Canal's Miraflores Locks, Panama Viejo, and the areas around the Biomuseo. But we were also sidetracked with wanting to see the local birds and mammals! Juan went out of his way to make sure that we could see a three-toed sloth and was very adaptable when our attention turned more towards the animals on the tour rather than the history of the city. When I had lamented that we had not gotten proper ceviche while in Panama, he changed our lunch plans to go to the fish market down by Casco Viejo! We had a great time and learned a lot. Thank you Juan!

Our guide Shawn provided a comprehensive tour of Panama City and the Miraflores locks. As the grandson of someone who came to Panama to help build the canal, he provided a comprehensive history of the culture, the buildings and the canal that gave us the context to understand present day Panama. His knowledge, and patience with all of our questions provided a great start to our week in Panama City. We throughly enjoyed our time with Shawn and highly recommend this tour as a way to start your time in Panama.
Me and my wife have just returned from a 20 day trip to Panama where we visited the places of greatest interest ( Panama city, San Blas, El Valle de Antoin, S. Catalina, Boquete, Volcan Baru and Bocas del toro) relying exclusively to Manakin Adventure. Thanks to perfect knowledge of the history and nature of this country, to the courtesy, education and punctuality of the leader ( Juan Jose') and all his staff, my trip was fantastic. Thanks to them we had the opportunity to get to know this country thoroughly. I will never cease to thank Juan Jose' and his staff for the wonderful experience.
