Dette levende kvarter karakteriseres entydigt af det jødiske samfunds kultur (det største jødiske samfund af ca. 80.000 mennesker bor i Budapest, i Øst-Centraleuropa), der slog sig ned her for århundreder siden. Den tredje største synagogen i verden (den næststørste i Europa), det jødiske museum og arkiver med en rig samling og de vigtigste jødiske religiøse og kulturelle institutioner er placeret her. Kvartalet har været på listen over UNESCOs verdensarv siden 2002. Lad os opdage historien, kostumer, traditioner og festivaler sammen! Det første stop på vores jødiske arv-tur er verdens næststørste synagoge, kendt som Dohány Street Synagogue. Udstillinger, mindesmærker og meget mere venter på, at vi skal udforske såsom Holocaust-mindesmærket, Heltenes Kirkegård, Livets Træ med Wallenberg Mindepark.
Vi besøger det jødiske museum, der indeholder en unik samling af jødiske artefakter (for eksempel verdens ældste Torah-finial) med en fantastisk historie.
Fascinerende historie med lokal kunst; berømte ruin barer; eklektiske butikker; avantgarde gallerier og gode spisesteder - Det jødiske kvarter (verdensarvssted) blev et af de mest spændende og populære steder i Budapest. På vores vandretur udforsker vi højdepunkterne i dette livlige kvarter og taler selvfølgelig om det ungarske jødiske samfunds lange historie.
Vi opdager det lille ortodokse samfund med deres daglige livsvaner og skikke igennem ved at besøge den lille, fredelige ortodokse synagoge.
Den sidste synagoge i den jødiske trekant er Rumbach Street Synagogue med interessante historier. Bemærk: I øjeblikket er under rekonstruktion.

We had a wonderful tour with George. He was informative and fun to be with. Highly recommend Geroge and this tour.
Our tour guide, György was fabulous. He met us at the lobby of our hotel and provided us with an informative walking tour of the surrounding area on the way to the Jewish quarter of Budapest. He was incredibly knowledgeable of Budapest and the Jewish history. We thoroughly appreciated all he had to offer in seeing the important sites in the area, including but not limited to the synagogues, museum, memorials and current cultural flair of the local area. In addition to the walking, he took us on the Metro to the river bank to see the Parliament building and the important, solemn Shoes on the Danube memorial. He provided us with so much important information of this part of Budapest’s history, and was polite and professional too. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Budapest.

George was an amazing and very knowledgeable guide. Everything was perfect from meeting me at the hotel to drop off. Very emotional day but light moments with chimney cake and small talk. As I was solo, George did the usual tour but offered options and insights throughout the day to be sure I saw everything I should or wanted to. This tour is a must for anyone who wants a history of the Jewish story in Budapest

<p>Rashad is one of the most knowledgeable historians on Jewish events I have ever heard. He gave us an overview of world history as it related to Jewish people as well as in depth descriptions of the ghettos where thousands died from exposure, starvation, and Nazi bullets. The most striking portion of the tour was the depiction of the men,women and children who were shot and thrown into the Danube illustrated by empty shoes at the river side. The tour was well worth more than its cost.</p>
