So much fun at the stayhungrystaybologna cooking class with Federico. Matty and I and a bunch of great people all enjoyed the wine, the company and the fun, relaxed way to learn how to make traditional pasta and dessert. Chef Fred made us all feel at home, allowing us to get involved and went through all the steps with ease! We were sent home with full bellies, all the recipes and smiles on our faces. Great way to spend your time in Bologna, would highly recommend and do it all again next time we are in Italy. Ragu the cat 🐈, a pleasure meeting you too!
thanks a lot!!!!!!!!!
Chef Frederico was absolutely fantastic and incredibly accommodating. From the moment we booked, he was responsive, helpful, and flexible, even managing to host a larger group than he normally would. The class itself was brilliant. Everyone was fully involved, and we learned so much about making pasta in a fun, relaxed way. Chef Frederico is warm, funny, and a truly wonderful host, and his cat Ragù was an added highlight! Thank you for such a flawless 10/10 experience. I would highly recommend booking this class if you’re visiting Bologna.
thanks a lot!! it was the biggest group ever and lots of fun girls :)
We were fortunate in that we only had the 4 of us in the class. We all got plenty of hands on experience with the pasta. The sauces can’t be made in an hour and we appreciated that we could enjoy our homemade pasta right away. The tiramisu was fun and different. We all enjoyed it and what we learned.
thanks a lot it was a pleasure to host!
We arrived shortly before the cooking class started. A few participants came a little late, but the Host began right away without them. The appetizers that were promised in the description were not served. The portions were far too small to be anywhere near enough — Federico said it was all for us, even though twelve of us had to share a single pan!!!! (Picture!) The host was wearing sweatpants and worked in such a way that we participants basically had nothing to do but watch. The promised wine tasting also didn’t take place; instead, he served €3 wine ( from Lidl) and told us it was organic wine. Absolutely not recommended!!!!! Way too expensive!!!!
thanks for the spamming review keep going LOL you guys had exactly 100 gr of fresh pasta each person dividend in 3 tasting : tortelloni, maccheroni and tagliatelle a usual portion is 80 gr in restaurant + a tiramisu i think is more than enough for a meal , if you like to eat like pigs just bc you paid a normal price of a class including drinking 10 bottles of wine in 12 people you probably should go to mc donalds lol i think you buy in lidl since you seem a broke people i use just high quality of products have a good life losers
I came to Bologna to learn to make homemade tortellini. Yes I’ve been making pasta since I was 10, as it’s a right of passage in our family. But I wanted to learn this pasta shape from people who do it everyday! I made tortelloni, maccheroni, and tagliatelle along with travelers I met from all over the world. It was SUCH a fun experience and now I feel confident in making it! I went through @stayhungrystaybologna with Frederico who opened up his beautiful home and had a well organized class for us in the kitchen, and we all ate the fruits of our labor in the dining room together. And of course the wine was flowing! He gave us recipes, especially for his ragù (bolognese sauce) and tiramisu! I highly recommend! 🤌🏼🇮🇹🥰 He also gave us some suggestions about town including an enoteca and about half the class went there after for more wine! I've seen some of these reviews that are negative on here, and I want to address those... When traveling you have to be flexible. Yes, my original class was canceled (bc no one else signed up) so he kindly fit me into a different one the night before. Were there 5 bottles of different wine with a tasting? No, but we had plenty of wine throughout and it was really delicious! I'm sure we drank at least 5 bottles! He kept the class moving yes, but does anyone really want him to lallygag around while people are waiting for something to do? I loved the pacing of the class. Also when someone opens their own home it's important to be respectful that it's their home. There's only a certain amount of space, and I thought this kitchen was rather large for an Italian apartment! So, one may not do the tiramisu or something else, but that's on the attendee for not volunteering. Everyone in my class had the best time, and those of us that went for wine later talked about how we really enjoyed it!
thanks a lot was a fun night
Good Food and fun pasta making process, and enough wine; at 1930 the host ask if he should order a taxi for us
thanks for the visit, yes I was kind to ask you if could help with a taxi to get back ;)
Need refund as it was cancelled without notice never got the lessons for me and my spouse Booking this may be a mistake So book at your own risk
class was full due to high season!!! I offer each time im full multiple options for different days...what more can i do?
Looking at past reviews, I know I’m at risk of being barraged with insults from Federico, but I’d like other travelers to know what we experienced. We booked a 2 hour Food/Wine Walking tour through our travel company. The start was fine. Federico obviously has local knowledge and did share some cool tips with us. However, as the tour progressed, it felt very rushed and he seemed disengaged. Our tour was cut short by 30 minutes and he skipped one of the listed stops - a local handmade pasta shop. This tour looked so good on paper - enjoy “the best foodie places, shops and markets”, hear “anecdotes and city secrets that only few locals know” - but sadly did not deliver. With a tour guide who is enthusiastic, passionate about their subject, and enjoys people, this had the potential to be a great. After the tour, he insisted that food and drinks were not included even though I sent him a screen shot of our paid tour invoice. There's a very good reason that Federico has so many unsatisfied customers, as you can see below. Our experience was not unique and I encourage anyone thinking of booking with this service to reconsider or at the very least be sure they have Paula instead, who sounds wonderful.
this is a cooking class not a food tour genius you post a wrong review..to wrong place
Walk there if you can..under the porticos almost the whole way from city center…a wonderful evening of learning how to make tortellini and tagliatelle! wine was flowing free all night.. never knew Tiramisu only takes 5 minutes to make!! And delicious!! My only complaint was that I wanted more!!!!
thanks a lot for the experience!
The tuition was great, Paula was very kind and attentive, the food was great very tasty . I will try it at home. Thank you. It was fantastic.
thanks a lot
