Game of Thrones, en af de mest populære tv-shows, flyttede til Baskerlandet for at skyde flere af de scener, der gav livet til en ny placering kaldet Dragonstone, i syvende sæson. I virkeligheden er stranden og øen, der danner stedet, faktisk placeret på to forskellige steder, og i løbet af denne tur besøger vi begge! Følg trinene i dine foretrukne spil af troner karakter i Baskerlandet, der besøger spektakulære klipper med en historie på mere end 60 millioner år og en magisk stenig ø pirater, hekse og legender.

Itzurun stranden i Zumaia er en del af en af de mest spektakulære strækninger af Guipuzcoan kysten. Dens store lodrette klipper, kalksten vægge, der når op til 150 meter efterår, dannede et geologisk fænomen kaldet flysch i tusindvis af år ved erosion af havet
Mundaka, en charmerende lille fiskerby og et af de mest berømte surfingsteder i Europa
San Juan de Gaztelugatxe har været scenen for pirater, hekseovne og legender, og det er ikke tilfældigt, at det har akkumuleret titler af "mest stemte undskyld" eller "mest værdsatte" enklave af rejsende fra hele verden. Den stejle og lange trappe, der forbinder øen med jord, er en udfordring, og der er forskellige versioner af dens virkelige antal trin, men alle er enige om, at vandreturen er værd
På trods af at den er meget lille, har den et velfortjent ry for sine grillede fiskrestauranter, Txakoli-vinen og de to berømte sønner: den berømte modedesigner Cristobal Balenciaga og Juan Sebastián Elcano, den første mand til at omgå jorden i 1519.

The day was lovely. Great to get out of the city and see the country side. Andoni was a courteous and informative guide who provided a day that we were interested in. The scenery is lovely, lush green hills and wine areas with rugged coastlines. A great tour!

After several mishaps that left us without a rental car we were devastated that we were not going to see most of the things on our itinerary. Baskme to the rescue! I booked a severely last minute tour to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe and it did not disappoint. Our local guide Jaime was what I’d call a kindred spirit- nature loving, warm and wonderful, and engrossingly knowledgeable - He subtly assessed what we were into (which was more history and culture as opposed to being GOT fans) so he showed us some extra things that blew our minds. Was absolutely the best day of our trip and I’m glad we saved it for last. Special memories not soon forgotten indeed. Eskerrik asko Jaime!
Jaimie was an excellent guide with excellent knowledge. He knows so much about the history of the Basque region. Being a game of thrones fan we loved the locations and took heaps of photos imagining that we were there when Jim Snow and Danearys were shooting the TV series. Recommend to game of thrones fans and all those interested in learning about the Basque region. The scenery and walks - just spectacular and also a good workout. Adrian and Anita from Australia
This tour was, by far, my favorite part of my visit to Spain this year! It is far more than a nod to GOT. The scenery is absolutely stunning, and the tour operator - baskme (Andoni) - is the consummate professional and very engaging. I developed a deeper appreciation for Basque history and culture.
The sights were amazing and I would strongly recommend Andoni. Excellent communication in the lead-up to the day with great recommendations and the ability to customise the itinerary. He is friendly, knowledgable and fun.
Can’t say enough great things about our day-tour with Andoni. As big GOT fans, it was an absolute blast to visit the filming locations for Dragonstone (Yes, you visit more than one!). The hotel pick-up from San Sebastian was a huge plus, as the locations we visited were around an hour west of San Sebastian. Andoni was as professional as they come and ensured we were completely comfortable and relaxed the entire day. He showed us the best kept secrets throughout the area and truly got to know us. We would have never had seen anything close to what we did without his guidance. My wife and I both agree that this was the highlight of our entire vacation. Would reccomend 10/10.

My husband and I were only going to be in the Basque Country for 3 1/2 days in September 2019 and I wanted to enjoy the area as much as possible. After much search online I found BaskMe and I could not be happier with our choice. Andoni pick us up and took us in this road trip through small villages from Bilbao to San Sebastian. What a wonderful trip and what a great tour guide. The tour was customized and stopped in San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, Mundaka, Zumaia and Getaria. We loved all the small villages, the views and the food, Andoni’s recommendations were spot on. We also did another customized tour with BaskMe to Lourdes, Saint-Jean-de-Luz in France and Hondarribia in Spain. Beautiful trip again. Andoni was a great host of the Basque Country, he is very knowledgeable of the area and conversations were enjoyable. Truly recommend his tours!
Great place to visit where Game of Thrones was shot. If you are going to go wear good shoes and prepare to go up and down hills. Hehe.
