Highly recommend this trip! Andreas was wonderful and drove us right to the gate for Balos, stocked us with snacks and chairs, and then took us to lunch after the beach. Balos is beautiful and definitely recommend it. The hike back up is no joke though. We are fit and enjoy hiking and it was strenuous.

When choosing a tour, we only wanted the best in terms of value for money, convenience, exceptional customer service and a private tour for the best experience. With all this in mind, I found Jeeppaddletour to match these expectations. We had read all the reviews about taking a car rental and how insurance companies will not insure you on the dirty track from Kissamos to Balos, which is a lengthy drive on uneven surfaces. Andreas picked us up well on time very close to our accommodation in a very smart 4x4 jeep and the best bit was we had our very own private tour and made our way to Balos Lagoon. Andreas is very polite ensuring that you are ok and enjoying the tour and provides cold bottled spring water, foldable chairs and umbrella for use on the beach. When we got to the dirt track, the best bit was that the 4x4 handles the track conditions very well at a comfortable speed overtaking all the rentals cars that are going slow. You certainly feel like a VIP :-). On arrival at the car park at Balos, Andreas walked with us to the view stop for photos then directed us to the path to the beach. Upon returning to the jeep, we made our way for lunch at a very nice restaurant with a lovely view. The food was sourced and grown from their own produce and Andreas organised for my dietary requirements very well. This made the whole experience an exceptional one. Andreas was a great driver! He was very knowledgeable about the island and Greece. It was the perfect way to spend a day. Balos Beach was beautiful. The drive up to Balos is VERY bumpy and the hike back from the beach is strenuous, but in an awesome adventure way. Andreas provided us with snacks and chairs for the beach and took us to the perfect photo spot before we hiked down to the beach. The restaurant we went to after the beach was delicious as well. Don't hesitate booking this tour, it was a highlight of our trip.

Amazing day! Andreas is so well organized, punctual, and informative. The whole day is well planned from hotel pickup, to a coffee stop, chairs and snacks for the lagoon, and lunch afterwards. Make sure to wear athletic shoes for the hike down and out. The view from the top is not to be missed and one you wouldn’t get from arriving by boat. We saw a number of tourists trying to do this by rental car and were so happy to have Andreas driving and dropping us off right at the entrancement . Definitely recommend for your time in Crete!

Undeniably one of the best trips I have been on. Our guide was welcoming, funny and knowledgeable. The tour really did exceed expectations despite the heavy rain witnessed whilst at Balos lagoon. After an already brilliant day, myself, my partner and two friends were treated to the best food we’d had all holiday. The restaurant was beautiful!!!

We really enjoyed our trip to Balos! The excursion was a good amount of time to be able to see and enjoy the beach, and we got there early enough to beat a lot of the crowds. On our way back, we stopped at a restaurant with a beautiful view of Falassarna and enjoyed delicious food. Our guide gave us great tips and recommendations for the area we were staying and made the trip very enjoyable overall.

My friend and I were picked up by Andreas (Crete) with his jeep. He was able to tell us a lot about Crete and drove us quickly but safely to Balos. Due to the four-wheel drive we had a very good feeling while driving. The route is a very long gravel road, without guardrails and with a lot of waves in the ground, which can only be felt less by driving faster. We are always adventurous on holiday with our Car rental but we would definitely have stopped this route, especially since all car rental companies prohibit the trip to Balos! -> completely understandable and right in my opinion! With the private tour of Andreas we had a pleasant day, no stress and no worries. His timing was perfect to bypass the crowds on Balos :) Everything was as described. A clear recommendation from us. Highly recommended. This private tour to Balos via 4 wheel drive exceeded our expectations. This is a bucket list location and swimming experience. Andreas provided excellent service, shared local knowledge and gave us privacy to thoroughly enjoy this tour. After a 3 hr swimming stop at Balos we enjoyed an excellent meal at a local tavern with panoramic views over Fallassarna beach. An unforgettable experience.
